I’m a regular customer at Arun Residence since opened over 10 years ago, but never wrote any comments.
This time, I visited this place alone for a sunset drink after visiting the temple nearby. Upon arrival and departure, Mr Peem always greeted me with Wai...More
We stayed for 5 nights on a recommendation from a friend who lives in Bangkok. Great choice. We were in the Arun Suite which was very spacious and had its own private deck looking out over the river to Wat Arun. Room was clean and...More
We booked this hotel for 1 night - mainly for the location directly opposite Wat Arun and proximity to many sights. We had a great evening walk to the nearby flower market, for example. Our room, a suite overlooking the river, was large and comfortable...More
Really well located, walking distance from Grand Palace, Wat Pho, ferry terminal for Wat Arun. Nicely decorated and comfortable beds. Breakfast was good too. Really amazing view across the water to Wat Arun and the restaurant in the hotel was always packed during the day...More
We loved Arun’s service, atmosphere, location, food, it was all good. The room was super cute with the bed upstairs and a little sitting area facing the river. We loved the restaurant attached to the hotel. The views are amazing, especially their roof top patio!...More

While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around
Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

As other responders noted this is not a luxury property. My wife and I stayed in the Arun Suite, with a private balcony overlooking the river, with a great view. If you can get that room I think it would be a great romantic honeymoon spot. I don't know about the other rooms. The hotel is small and the decor has a charming eccentricity and a "funky" ambience. I mean that in a positive way. As others noted it has a great location for walking to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun is across the river. A ferry terminal is nearby to cross the river. Amorosa Bar is a nice spot to have a drink and watch the sunset and the restaurant on site is convient for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Other dining is within walking distance.
