Nice hotel with lots of pros. Lobby and main areas are nice with lots of lovely sitting areas. We appreciated the fresh water, coffee machine and cookies/crackers in the main area. Pool was nice and great depth for our kids (ages 7 and 9). Location is about 10-15 min drive from KohSan Rd area. There is a street right up from the hotel which had a couple good local restaurants (Panettone was incredible for lunch and desserts were amazing - try their special dessert; layers with frozen fruit on top!). Also a small 7-11 nearby. Otherwise not a lot of tourist locations within walking. Breakfast was basic buffet style with bread, butter and 1 jam for toast, assortment of salad vegetables, cut fruit, rice, soup, dry cereals and milk, scrambled eggs, hot dogs and deli ham. Rooms were good size and we appreciated robes, slippers and water bottle refills daily left outside our room. It was nice to have the master bedroom with door separating from twin room so kids could have their own space. Only issue was main door opened into twin room so hard to go in and out of room if needed once kids were asleep. Could hear some hallway noise and noise from outside if people were talking loudly on street.

The hotel location is great with a lot of street food hawkers and convenient store 7-11 just out the alley. There are busses to choose for several directions which is very convenient to reach downtown Bangkok! About the hotel self, the Residence part is having an elevator to reach your room but if you are unlucky and the receptionist is giving you a room at the (old) hotel building with dark window frames then you need to CLIMB the stairs up to the 4th floor because there are NO ELEVATORS!!! Keep in mind when you have large suitcases with you. I have made the mistake to book a room at UMA Residence. I wasn't aware about this situation, if I knew this before booking I definitely choose for an other hotel! Room and bed sheets are clean in the old building but the interior decoration is very basic, not even a paper cup in the bathroom. Bathroom is truly very small, it's smaller than my closet at home! Airconditioning is functioning well. Breakfast is, as already mentioned here at TA by several visitors, very basic and not worth for booking a breakfast at the hotel. You better have a good Asian breakfast outside the hotel at the main road. For my self, I cancelled my booking for the next two nights at UMA Residence. There are far better and newer hotels in Bangkok for the same room rate. If you insist to book a room at UMA Residence look very closely if you truly booking the Residence building and not the (old)hotel. Never UMA residence again for myself!

clean, comfortable room with a hot shower : hotel looks out of the way on a map but in fact is only 15 minutes taxi ride from Victory Monument : couldn’t get TV to show any useful programmes and wi-if only available if sitting near to reception area : however, minor irritations considering exceptional value and general comfort of hotel : breakfast pretty basic : better off going to the nearby Cafe Amazon and looking for street food in one of the many food stalls 2 minutes walk from hotel

By location, surrounding with GOV office , Education center, local house and local store. Road to hotel very narrow, and hotel not much parking. Room neat and clean enough. Swimming pool are crowded with mosquito. Easy to find street food there.

This is an excellent hotel - an oasis in a crazy city with its lovely leafy outside area. Bright clean rooms, great little pool, good breakfast (thai and western buffet items), friendly staff. It’s in a great place for the water taxi from Payat. The location might bother some, especially if you are looking for restaurants to eat in the evening as there are very few restaurant options - although there are lots of street food options which were perfectly fine and we could bring the food back to eat at the hotel. Also our taxi driver from the airport got lost and had to ask several people on the street how to get to the hotel as the area is not well known as a tourist area - see the pictures for the details to show your taxi driver. WiFi was a bit slow from the room but faster next to the pool. Overall though a wonderful experience for our first few nights in Bangkok.

We stayed here 3 times in a row because we loved it so much. Very friendly staff, gorgeous atmosphere, fun pool, and of course free snacks and cappuccino machine 24/7. We love you UMA and we will be back next time we’re in Bangkok!!

Here with my family in Bangkok. Not tea happy with the service with this place. Poor WiFi (extremely poor). Got breakfast some morning and then told we weren’t allowed. Found them to be unfriendly. Hotel was reasonably clean. Beds are hard like the rest of Asia.

It was nice staying in this hotel. Breakfast is not included but there is swimming pool to cool off between the 2 hotel buildings. There i lot of plants around. So this is nice minimal hotel, i prefer. The reception is nice and hospitable but they should learn a bit more english, but thats problem for Asia haha

“A perfect city getaway stay in the middle of the city of Bangkok.” That’s how I would define my stay at UMA Residence since the hotel provides a cozy tropical, non-metropolitan vibe, despite being located not far from Bangkok’s famous destination, like, Siam. More importantly, the staff was super super polite and helpful and that actually fulfilled my stay here.
