Same menu downstairs terrace inc daily special, had excellent Thai pork with gravy/sauce, rice and vegetables + glass of wine 280 baht <$10 (see pic), breakfast good with egg chef too.
On departure very good, concierge calls taxi and ask if you want meter or fixed fare; no confusion with drivers.
No green tea or muesli at breakfast, sugary cereals.
It’s located close to shopping malls with extensive food courts as well as street eateries and 7/11 stores. Really, it’s location can’t be beat.
Rooms are modern enough and housekeeping was prompt and efficient.
Buffet breakfast was adequate enough without being extravagant - but no complaints from me.
All staff were very professional and courteous.
Street nosies can be loud at times at night but that is a trade-off due to its location.
Overall a very enjoyable stay at a very competitive price.
The location is very good. Within walking distance to malls and the metro station. There are shops just outside the hotel as well so everything is accessible. Although the road in front is very busy, the noise rarely seeps in to the room.
I have dietary restrictions (halal only), so the hotel's breakfast buffet was very welcomed as there was a good variety. I got a chance to utilise their spa and that wasn't a disappointment too. Well worth the money and reasonably priced compared to what you can find outside.
If you're willing to look beyond the hotel's tired facade and dated interiors, this hotel is actually a hidden gem. The only thing my colleagues and I couldn't get over is the teddy bear that they place on your bed when you check-in. We called it the welcome bear. Although it was cute, the room's tired interior gave it a creepy and unnerving feel. We all put the welcome bear away and out of sight.
However, there are signs of aging in the hotel facilities. For example, the card reader in the elevator is not very sensitive, often requiring multiple attempts for successful recognition. The flushing cistern of water closet may also be worn out, often requiring multiple flushes to work properly. I also found the room lighting to be insufficient, which is an area that needs improvement. The placement of the charging sockets could be closer to the bedside as well, as it is currently inconvenient to use the phone while charging.
Overall, while this hotel may not be perfect, it is a reliable accommodation choice. Considering the discounted rates, it offers good value for money, so I would recommend staying here.
