We went to Bangkok twice, and both times stayed a few days in the Lamphu Tree House. The hotel is a very quaint boutique hotel, in a calm street just 5 minutes walking distance from Khao San Road. The hotel may seem basic at first glance, but it has many advantages - hot showers, a swimming pool with complimentary towels...

The rooms are tiny and not well kept. The bathroom was so small. It is nothing like the pictures on their website. We were very disappointed. As three young females travelling we felt very unsafe in the area. It is not a very nice area to be walking around at night and we had a couple of strange interactions during...

The design of the hotel is really beautiful, wood everywhere, nice decoration, lots of plants, it's like an oasis in the middle of the old Bangkok. It feels very quiet and peaceful too. The bedrooms are charming, very clean. Good staff. Wifi in the room. There is a very nice swimming pool. I loved the breakfast there, especially the pancakes...

We stayed at the hotel twice during our Thailand vacation. It's a small relaxed hotel. Not a luxury one but it was just perfect for us. We stayed there with out 10 month old Baby. The staff was very friendly and tried to help with any question we had. The food in the restaurant was good. Only the breakfast can...

I'm giving this a 4 star review because it's not quite perfect. Relative to sightseeing this isn't a bad location but it's not a pleasant street to stroll on. The wifi was extremely spotty but other than that very few complaints. Breakfast was delicious and people were friendly. But this was a little pricier than I would hope for pretty...

We are a family with a two year old boy and contacted them asking for a room. First they stated that they've got one and asked for our arrival time. When I told them that we are coming around 11pm due to late flight, they dropped me this message: Dear Guests,  We must apologize that you come quite late and...

Lamphu Tree House is well-located in central Bangkok, making it very easy to get around the city. It's tuck away next to a canal on Wan Chat Bridge, which we were worried would smell during high summer, but it didn't. Rooms are clean and air-conditioned. The only downside was perhaps that the bathrooms (consisting of a toilet, low-pressure shower and...

Perfect place for a stop over in noisy Bangkok. Even the Hotel is situated in the heart of the City, just 2 blocks away from khao san road, it's a very quiet place close to the water ("Lampha canel") with private pool. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and in very good condition.

We stayed there 4 nights. Our thoughts: It is 15 minutes walk from Kao San Road, close enough to walk and far enough to sleep well without earplugs ;-) Room was spotlessly clean and cleaned every day! The pool was a great feature, it helped us survive the heat. The staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfasts were OK but...

This is such a nice, clean, and affordable place to stay. The price included free delicious breakfast. We also experienced a great customer service. The hotel employees are friendly. The location is isolated from the main street, however, it is accessible and within a walking distance to Bangkok tourists attraction. Due to the fact that the location is isolated from...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
