Vanilla place is an excellent place to stay with simple clean rooms. What makes this guesthouse so special is Mr. Kem and his wife who assist you with any questions you might have. No matter if you want to book a tour, just look for a nice restaurant etc. They always give you the feeling of being at home.

We have just got back from a trip to Thailand and whilst in Chiang Mai we stayed at Vanilla Place after reading reviews here. Mr Kem was as helpful as previous reviews had said, and managed to get us really good deals on all the trips that we wanted to take. He even managed to get us money off a...

We stayed for only 2 nights at the Vanilla place and were very happy. The rooms themselves are basic, very clean....hot water heater in bathroom worked great, air conditioning worked great, fridge for leftovers. This is not a "fancy" hotel but Mr Kem and his family more that make up for that. He found us good drivers to show us...

Stayed there with my wife for 3 nights, the owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic but very clean, breakfast is good and the staff really go out of their way to accommodate you. I've stayed in hotels that are vastly more expensive but offer less. You also get free wireless internet thrown in. The only...

Very often the difference between a good hotel and great hotel is the warmth of the place, and the care provided by the host. Vanilla Place is one such a place. It does not have 5-star facilities, but does have a friendly, helpful and caring 5-star team led by Mr.Kem. Providing useful information when you need it, and yet remain...

We stayed for 2 nights at the Vanilla Place after Christmas. We booked two rooms for the four of us. Our expectations were exceeded.....! The location is very good, walking distance to the night market and Sunday market and about 10-15 mins. from the airport. It is located on a busy street which is good and bad. The noise and...

Spent 5 nights with Mr. Kem and his Darling and had the best service in 4 months of traveling around the world. Also, the location was perfect, rooms were very clean, and price was right. What more can you ask for. Oh, if you are very sensitive to noise, ask for a room in the back. Enjoy!!!

We stayed at Vanilla Place for 4days and received great welcome and helpful from Mr Kem. He provided us with useful information about Chiang Mai and Bangkok. We really grateful for his guide that meant a lot to us because we knew that we wont be treated so nice if we choose to stay at hotels. Besides that, the room...

Wow!!! We stayed with Kem and Kath for our honeymoon in Chiang Mai, November 2010. The communication pre visit was second to none, Kem kept us up to date via e mail and organised his driver to pick us up from the Train Station free of charge. We were greeted after a long over night journey on the train by...
