This hotel reminded me of the hotel in the movie the shining.....when it was deserted but with no beautiful decor. The staff was ok, however no English was understood or spoken here. No tuk tuks wanted to drive" that far" meaning pricey rides to and from hotel. Rats scurrying through the walls woke us up. Rats. Enough said.

We left it to the last minute to book accommodation in Chiang Mai during Songkran so had very little (no) choice. This place is quite far out of town and was difficult to get a tuk tuk to take us there. It manages to have both a neglected and unused air about and we had to change rooms 3 times when we first checked in to find a room with running water & flushing toilet. Our toilet still needed a half hour break between flushes (& the sink leaked). The room was clean and spacious, although the air con was noisy only had on/off settings, meaning we were freezing. Our booking included breakfast but there was no mention of it & we weren't really inclined to follow it up (lots of yummy options in Chiang Mai itself). Judging from the way the staff reacted to us I think possibly we were the first international tourists they had ever had stay there. When we asked them to book a tuktuk this caused a lot of concern & took about an hour. Every day. And it was always the same... More
