This was an outstanding place to stay, centrally located in the Old City. The staff was outstandingly helpful and the breakfasts each morning were lovely and enjoyed in the restaurant as you watched all of the action in the street. Our room was beautiful with a balcony that you could gaze on the wats, listen to the sounds of the...

This was one of the most beautiful place I have evert stayed in. Charming, boutique-style hotel, it makes you feel like in heaven. Super quiet, relaxing, in excellent location, friendly staff. Perfect place to stay if you look for tranquility, detoxing, good sleep and beautiful holidays in Chiang Mai. I can't wait to stay in this hotel again.

I stayed at Villa Duang Champa this December and found it to be well located in Old City, comfortable and very friendly staff. Plus, fantastic spring rolls and Pad Thai in the restaurant! Live music and ambience very good. A great little gem.

Eclectically furnished rooms with lots of charm, right in the middle of the old city. Staff were helpful and accommodating and easy to communicate with. Rooms with balconies are worth it to enjoy a beer while you watch the sunset over the mountains and the nearby wat. We stayed a few nights when we first arrived in Chiang Mai, and...

Had two days to kill in Chiang Mai and ended up here. I booked the only free room, 10 on the top floor. Check-in was easy, though they wanted a refundable deposit for the key. The building is charming, colonial old-style. Room 10 is up four flights of stairs. The room is large and has plenty of light. Opens on...

Came across this fabulous hotel while walking through the Sunday markets and stopped for a few beers because they had a live band playing at the front with great music. Waiters were very friendly and all of them happy, dancing to the music as they worked, such a fun atmosphere. They have 2 bands play every Sunday from about 6...

What makes a hotel special is the staff and their interactions with their clients to make everyone's stay a pleasant one. If you choose the Villa Duang Champa, Tony will be there to help in any way he can and other staff members as well. Tony recommended an excellent massage place right next door and managed to get us a...

Hotel is in a great location. A bit old-school rooms but clean and staff are nice. Restaurant is downstairs and offers live music at night sometimes (ask for schedule). Only 10 rooms available--would stay there again due to great location and nice rooms.

I almost wish I wasn't publishing this review as I'd love to keep this amazing hotel a secret. But that being said this spot is everything you want when visiting CM: quaint rooms full of local charm, amazing incredible staff (Tony, windy, and literally everyone else), central location to anything and everything (100% central to the old city, 15 mins...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This award-winning renovation of a colonial style building, in the centre of Chiang Mai, offers just 10 guestrooms and conjures up a peaceful, and rather aristocratic feel which is perfect for a laid-back getaway in this remarkable city. Taken from the name of Laos’ national flower, Villa Duang Champa , successful renovation into an elegant, four story luxury bed and breakfast was awarded by the Siam Architect , Association and its not hard to see why. The restoration pays attention to differences in each room’s design – each room is a triumph of tasteful, individual décor. Other delights include a winding staircase connecting the breakfast room to the second floor, a giant tree and lovely teatime table in the small garden, and the lighting; a mixture of contemporary and traditional approaches. Each room has large windows, which give plenty of natural light to highlight the room décor. Those who love colonial charm and minimalism will be in heaven here. The 10 bedrooms are spread between four bright floors, with views to the mountains. Inside you'll find comfy retro chairs, stylish daybeds, and old-fashioned lighting as well as interesting floor-tiles and individual pale colors on white color schemes. ... more   less
