We stayed at Hotel Golden Bell in early February 2023. What a great location and property, at first it seams to be down a kind of ally but it turns out to be in a perfect spot, it’s quite and close to the old city gate, markets, shopping and good places to eat. Not at all touristy feeling yet modern with all the amenities, the staff are friendly and helpful and the in house breakfast is fantastic! What a gem to discover by accident and a great price too

I have stayed here every time I have been to Chiang Mai, the hotel is very clean the pool is crystal clear and the breakfast excellent. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the hotel is situated about 50 metres from the South Gate of the old town. What more could you ask for.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay here. We booked on the basis of the reviews here for our three day jaunt from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. We were not disappointed. The property is nicely appointed, clean, and airy. Comfortable lobby. Our third floor room was quiet, good air conditioning, and the bed made for good sleeping. Robes and slippers provided. Many channels on the television but we really did not have much time to watch. Medium size bathroom with spacious shower and good pressure. Over sink lighting is a tad dim though. Breakfast is between opens at 7 and runs for a couple hours. Mostly an Asian mix of food but eggs can be ordered to your specifications. While they do not advertise it, coffee can be drawn from the machine after dining hours (we used that a few times for poolside lattes). The pool is attractive but we found the water a bit too cold for our tastes. But it is a lovely venue to sit and relax. Overall we enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again at the first opportunity. Special thanks to Dai, who worked all of our front desk administration during the course of our stay; May who arranged all of our many excursions; Chokh (Samsak) who prepared our breakfast daily; and housekeeper Deuxn, who kept our room neat, tidy, and clean.…

Golden Bell Hotel is a perfect joice to stay. The room was big enough. It was quiet, because no through road. The location is directly at the old town entrance. They even have a small, clean pool for refreshing and the staff was extreemly friendly. Only the breakfast should be more westernized. Written by Thomas

Booked 2 nights and stayed for 5. Pros: Very cleab and quiet rooms Location is good, 3 minutes from chiang mai gate and street food at night. - the deluxe room was quite large and need was very comfortable All staff was great Pool area is nice to hang out after a stroll and pool is very clean Cons : The internet is a bit annoying and slow and you have to keep renetering your login info. Had smart tv with Netflix in the room but was never able to connect or use it.

Great location just outside the old city walls (Chiang Mai gate). Lovely for going for an early morning run around the walls. This was my second stay (the last time was with my best friend about 8 years ago), and it was just as lovely. We were 5 adults and were able to have two conjoined rooms (and another room) which was fantastic. Breakfast was delicious and with lots of choices - we all really enjoyed the Thai food! Everyone was catered for (vegetarian included) and there were Western options available too for anyone who fancied it. The pool was really refreshing and we enjoyed a few dips in it. The rooms were a good size, had good amenities (no conditioner though), tea and coffee making facilities, comfortable beds and cool aircon. The staff were lovely and really helpful throughout our stay. They helped us book a private car trip to Chiang Rai which was fantastic. Really recommend a stay here!…

The Golden Bell Hotel is situated in the heart of the city but it is tucked away up a side street so is nice and quiet. The location is great. The hotel itself is very nice. It is clean and the staff are very good. I would say for the price it very much exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was included in the price I paid and was more than adequate with both Western and Thai choices. I highly recommend this hotel.

For the price, its great value with no complains! Hotel located in a dead end that is quiet and safe. Its a small old hotel but extremely well maintained from the lobby to the rooms. Room size is sufficient for 2px with basic amenities and a surprisingly well cleaned shower area without mold or scum! All staff are friendly and helpful with special shoutout to Olive who made us feel like friends. Lovely massage 3 steps opposite the hotel. 1-2mins walk out to the daily morning local market and night food street (very affordable prices) with many locals and tourists at very affordable prices. Mini market just across further down the street. From the food streets, another 10mins walk into Old Town City where the Sunday night market is not to be missed (closed to traffic, great variety of food and drinks, talented artists, value for money clothes, souvenirs, bags etc etc). Tuk tuk and Grab easily available to attractions.…

Brilliant property. The location is sublime, 100M from the Gate Market, but no city noise! The staff are so friendly, humble and helpful. The hotel is modern and clean, and the price we paid for interconnected rooms was very reasonable. There's a fun swimming pool and a nice area on each floor for having take out meals.
