I have been travelling to Thailand for 30 years. The culture the warmth and kindness of the Thai people is an experience not to be missed. Sadly the Silver Sand Villa hotel on Jomtein beach road is DEFINATELY not the Thai style. To start as I checked in for a booking made 7 months in advance I was told as I checked in on 2nd January 2019 I would have to pay a 500 Baht surcharge for New Year. I was not informed prior to my arrival even though I had an email confirmation of the price. The reception staff and manager were rude and arrogant upon my arrival and a serious disagreement started as I protested on this surcharge. If it had been dealt with politely I would of just have dismissed it. Anyway this is something I have never known before in Thailand. The swimming pools were never cleaned and dirty. My room was tired and needed renovation desperately. The shower water was obviously rain water which was not treated and had a horrible smell after showering. There was very little of the curtious and kindness found in all other hotel staff in Thailand. There were no porters to help with luggage upon my departure. It was approx a 60 meter walk to reception. The television had 3 English channels NHK news Japan , Channel News Asia and BBC WORLD. There was no easily available room service. I think the rudeness of the staff and manager spoilt my holiday from day 1. I have never ever experienced such arrogance. I will keep visiting Thailand but the Silver Sand Villa hotel is definately a hotel I will never stay again.

First. Hotel accepts local guests freely. Accommodation in the new buildings is good and worth the 1500baht night fee. Main building accommodation o first two floors is just as good but lacks balcony. Third floor and above not great. Positives. Beachfront location. Has restaurant in lobby. 2 large pools. Plenty of sunbeds. Friendly staff. 24hr security. Massage shop on site (real massage without extras!!).. Quiet. Negatives. Sheets on first night found to be dirty. 3rd floor room needs upgrading. Night security guard over friendly towards guests by being very tactile. Food is OK but lower prices outside especially at the surf kitchen restaurant 80yards towards pattaya. Smoking in rooms OK.

The lobby looks great and the staff are friendly however once we got to the rooms it was a different. Musty and one of the beds needed clean sheets. The staff were accommodating and helpful though. Expensive for the decor and quality.

Big rooms, clean and nice balcony. Location is great, opposite the beach but set back off the main road. 2 x pools, plenty of sun loungers and helpful pleasant staff. Stayed here quite a few times and will be staying again next time I visit.

I very much like this hotel. This visit I stayed in the cheaper (1000bht) side wing the rooms are spacious but no view. The balcony rooms were 500 bht more but I had no intentions of bathing so I gave the balcony a miss but these rooms would be to most the preference. The location for me is perfect with local bars and eats but not to roudy. Staff are all very good. The hotel is very clean and visitors well catered for throughout the whole day.The pools are also very clean.
