Having stayed in this area a few times, I remembered that the Welcome World has a nice pool area. I’m a big fan of Rabbit Resort nearby, but it was booked full when I was planning this trip. I was also considering the Avalon Resort next door but the photos of the rooms at Welcome World looked nicer. While the pool is nice, I am not a fan of this hotel. As others have mentioned, a main sticking point is the 3000 baht deposit that they make you pay in CASH. While this isn’t a huge amount ($95 USD), I never use cash and keep as little cash with me as possible. I pulled out 5000 baht at the Bangkok airport and after paying the taxi 1600 baht, I had just over 3,000 baht left. When I checked in, I had to fork all of the remaining cash over just to pay the deposit. Listen folks, $95 doesn’t break the bank but requiring this in cash only is crazy! I stay over 100 nights per year in hotels all over the world and I’m never required to pay cash for a deposit. When I challenged the girl at check in about this, she said either I pay the deposit in cash or I can’t get my room. She said that Agoda (where I booked my room) publicizes their deposit policy, but this is not true. I checked my Agoda confirmation and it doesn’t state deposit requirements anywhere. I have no clue why they won’t accept credit cards. So weird! The rooms are fine (but nothing special) and the beds are comfortable. The furnishings are very normal, which is fine for this kind of hotel. In addition to the strange cash deposit requirement, I also experienced another “first time” when I ordered ice. Again, I stay in different star levels of hotels around the world at least 100 nights a year, and getting ice is normally: 1. Brought to your room free of charge 2. Self-service (also free of charge) or 3. Not available (like in some low end Asian hotels). Well, the WW hotel will bring you ice, but it costs you over $3 USD! How laughable that they charge for ice! I don’t recommend this hotel. The Rabbit nearby is a much nicer place and better experience! …
I would like to begin with saying this is not a 5 star hotel. First of all when we arrived room was dirty, hair on the couch floor and bathroom, sink clogged up, water dripping from under and the smell in the bathroom was the worst. We told them about the situation and they sent a lobby boy to us and he swept away the stuff with a big broomstick and thats it, however most of our problems were not solved only the hair on the floor (it was still on the couch tho) then we asked again and they were angry at us but they sent a cleaning crew to fully clean our room after that it was still not a 5 star clean but OK. Half of the staff or more does not know a word in english even some people working on office, and they are rude, they are bored and they hate when something is wrong and they have to get up to fix it. Furniture in the room is getting old and used up there are marks on all of them from spilled drinks and stuff, it does not look like the pictures from the hotel on websites AT ALL! Showering most of the time we did not have warm water and the water pressure is too weak to make me feel clean after for example washing my hair. Also the clean kit they give is cheap and bad quality and hard to press out of the tubes they come in. TP is worst quality I ever touched it is hard but the thinnest also, really uncomfortable. Towels are old and they do not look white they look dirty and used up however they are fairly clean. There is two huge pools and a lot of rooms however i only saw like 6 sun beds (they were fancy and two seated but dirty). Only thing i found good about this place is the location bc it is close to the beach and the beach is fairly clean (cleaner than the hotel for sure) but that is not really the hotels pro so It is not a big thing to mention. All in all I would AVOID this scam and yeah it is true they ask 3000 baht per room to deposit without ever telling you before you get there so make sure to have money on you. Oh and also in our room telephone was working on and off. In other places in the world this would at maximum be a 3 star hotel mostly bc of the location.and yes I have been to other hotels in Thailand and they were all fairly good and clean but this one was a nightmare.…
When we arrived we were asked for 3,000 bahts deposit really!!. Insufficient sunbeds which were taken by the Russians every morning without fail before 7am !!!! they would then put towels down on them to lay claim. Paid for a bottle of wine which was corked and had to do battel to get it replaced, they then sent us a cheaper bottle but would not refund the difference ( first bottle was more expensive). The staff could not speak English so very difficult to complain, I would of thought at least the front of house staff would know some but again limited. One morning my daughter woke up with bites all over her legs and is still recovering from these. The restaurant staff unsure how to serve 4 customers in the evening meal. I would not recommend this place , we were supposed to be there for a relaxing time but it was just stressful, we constantly had issue with our room and it had taken the staff 2 days to fix the electricity box that had become open and had wires everywhere.…
Hi guys , we were in this Hotel 4 night , hotel was in Jomtien beach Road , all of Shops you need were in there , just with 10 step you can lie on the white sand and take sunbathe, hotel was clean , staffs were helpful but they couldn’t speak english good , breakfast was normal , there was 3 pools , one for kids , 2 big pool that one of them had jomtien road view , you can take truck taxi to Pattaya beach road that was 10 Baht for every person , and come back with this taxi , hotel was quite Bad Thing : internet Was bad and discounted every time but Speed was good
Excellent location right on the beach, all rooms with balcony overlooking the massive pool. Rooms are clean and functional but furniture is a bit scruffy. Room amenities are on a par of the price paid, slippers and gown. Restaurant on ground floor basic nothing exciting but the are good eating areas within walking distance. Quiet location away from the throbbing night life of Pattaya. Great for families looking for beach.
