The hotel is down a side street off the main beach road, maybe 200-300 metres from the beach (3 minute walk). It is old, large & has had face lifts over the years & due for another but if it did, then prices go up. Our room faced the back pool area with a balcony, shade much of the day. It was clean but had a musty smell which we got used to, there was also a sewer smell in the bathroom that came & went & also got used to. There was a big stain with peeling paint in a corner where water obviously leaked in. After that, the room was clean, clean linens, newish furniture, couple chairs, short table, desk area, TV (few English channels, couple Russian, French, German), AC, mini-bar, kettle/coffee, wardrobe, slippers, hair dryer, 2 bottles of water, shampoo/soap& large towels. Wi-fi free but sometimes needed to change connections even if had a good one for a while.
There is a nice pool (1-3 m deep) with loungers, tables& chairs & shade is where you find it. Most of the time worked well except when some very selfish people claimed several loungers early & then did not come back for at least seven hours later. Other guests would come, look for loungers & leave, people don't do that, be considerate! Short term holds are okay, not all day!
They have a breakfast restaurant which we did not use, not included in our rate. There are 7-11's & a fresh donut/pastry shop nearby of breakfast/snack items.
Overall, okay place, the pool (small oasis in a clutch of buildings), staff were nice, friendly & helpful, great location, close to beach & 10 minutes to the night market. This & being clean means we could stay again but hopefully in a better smelling room.

Just returned from 3 weeks holiday from this friendly excellent located hotel. As always staff go out of the way to ensure your stay is pleasant and enjoyable. Good indication is many of the staff have been there for many years, namely Pannarat, Niew, Porpen, Tata , Wat . The rooms are cleaned daily and must mention Tun who looked after my floor was alway pleasant and ensured water bottles towels etc replenished every day. There
Is a lovely swimming pool with adequate beds which would be nicer if supplied mattress for comfort. Clean towels every day are supplied free. The location is excellent for local beach shops and restuarant also in vicinity is a market with almost everything fruit clothes etc available. My only criticism as before there is a lovely pool bar which is not manned due to non customer consumption. I would recommend room with pool view as are very spacious comfortable double bed with en suite facilities. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel which also reasonably priced for the location. I for one will definitely book again for my annual visit next November.

Firstly this pace is so cheap that expectations are lowered. The location is great, a few minutes walk to the beach. Staff at reception really helpful, nice pool area. Bed comfortable and aircon works, easy to park your car.
The hotel is slightly old, I think people can smoke in their rooms as could smell it in the corridors, breakfast just awful so didnt bother after the first day.
All in all its about right for its price, convenient, cheap and ok if you are out and about alot and not spending too much time in your room.

This hotel is great if you go for sleazy night life and don't mind the noise from the street (bar mile). Prices are low. Elevator out of order nearly every day (January 2013). Slow and unreliable internet. Friendly staff. Modest breakfast quality. Relatively large and decent rooms. Small pool, quite clean. Location is an offense. Hotel for adults only! Hords of asian visitors check in around midnight, the TV is running nearly constantly in adjacent rooms.

The combination of many negatives makes me rate this hotel as terrible. There's too many things to list them all. Rude and unflexible staff, dirty swimming pool, noisy location (even though far from central Pattaya), bad internet connection and old rooms. It also calls itself a beach resort even though it is inside the soi. None of this justifies charging over 2500 baht per night for a small room.

We had to pay all upfront (which was the first time during our 3 weeks visit of Thailand). After all that taken care of we were taken to our rooms. Everything in the room was totally worn out.
Not sure that we would be sleeping quietly we asked for another room - swimming pool view - and received yet again something we didn't ask for. My wife being native Thai could not communicate with the staff in a proper way .... very strange....
The next day we left the hotel in a hurry and were not entitled for any refund. After some arguing we had to drop 30% off the paid sum.
Of you are looking for a place nearby the sea this could be it but I strongly recommend to search further.

We booked this place because of its location and admittedly for affordable rate. But learned quickly the reasons behind the lower rates despite great location. The room had a musty smell to it, the bathroom smelled even more, the curtains were stained, the staff had difficulty communicating in English and the internet was non existent. The lack of connectivity was a huge problem because that did not allow checking on weather to plan the days in Pattaya among other things like googling for things you want to buy, best places to eat, unique places to visit. If you are tight on budget look harder, there's plenty of places around the beach. I'd recommend skipping this one.

This is my 6th visit to Mermaid Beach hotel and it still remains my favorite hotel in Jomtien. It is ideally located for the beach, restaurants, bars and markets. The staff throughout are extremely friendly and courteous all the time. Particularly Pannarat in reception with Vorawit, Tik and others. In addition in the office Porpen and Ta Ta, and the most helpful Wat porter on reception. The rooms are always very clean as cleaned

I detested the 1000 baht deposit
Hotel is run down.
Food and customer service was not good.
Room had damp and had mold and stank.
Pool is ok for drunken stag partys.
Location is good.
Massage parlour next door is excellent

Там абсолютно не шумно. Я жил в 203, знакомые жили в 202. Было тихо. Отель стоит в глубине от переулка.
Тур в этот отель брали у туроператора SUNMAR, в Тае партнёр Odeon , у Pegas нет такого предложения. Отели разделены по туроператорам. У каждого свои партнёрские отношения. Кроме того сейчас низкий сезон, турпрограмма в Тае стремится к нулю.
Гости могут и Бронирование, как вы хотите.
