I highly recommend this hotel, from the excellent front desk service to the room, the Massage treatments and the breakfast buffet. A welcome plate of fresh fruit was also tasty.

They even helped me book my Ha Long Bay tour, which was amazing. Came right to the front door.

The Emerald waters is/was a nice oasis from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi. No complaints whatsoever.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. My suite was excellent and had an outdoor patio. The fridge was stocked daily at a reasonable price.

Indeed the hotel was reasonably priced as well, considering its high quality. The market is competitive I would think -- there are several nice looking smaller hotels in the immediate area.

The breakfast buffet was very good with a wide variety of meals and foods to select from. This property is in a very good location within walking distance of the major sites in the old Quarter. If not, a taxi or a Grab bike can be found in seconds.

Again highly recommended.

My group of eight stayed here for five days and four nights. I definitely recommend this hotel for their cleanliness and amazing service and accommodations! The location is central to Hanoi, close to the turtle tower lake and were very attentive. The price is truly amazing, it was very very very reasonable.

I booked a stay here through Kevin Kien, the hotel manager. Our contact was very professional and the exchange was smooth. He helped us book a tour for Ha Long Bay tour which ended up even more reasonable than booking directly with the tour company.

Our flight to Hanoi was delayed but the hotel still had someone waiting for us at the airport and tried to contact us throughout. They made the best effort to accommodate us and even tried to find us during this delay. That was the first time we’d ever been in Hanoi and that left a lasting impression

We had four suites at the hotel. It was truly a boutique hotel, it was extremely clean. The food was only okay- it was good enough.

Again, the staff here was phenomenal. They were really helpful and always happy whenever we asked questions or needed help. The workers would give us maps and answer all our concerns. We had a really good time at this hotel because the staff were so nice and funny. They also spoke fluent English, their communication skills had no problems whatsoever.

The complimentary dinner was delicious and the 1 hour rickshaw tour from the hotel was amazing. It really gave us a beautiful tour. It was super fun and allowed us to experience the city in a really special way.

We had a most comfortable 6-nights' stay here. Location was great, being near to '36 streets' shopping area, restaurants (a few mins' walk away, just seek front desk' advice), good street food stalls just round the corner, a big Vinmart a mere 3 mins' walk to the left), sightseeing (Hoi Kiem Lake and Pagoda, temples).
Bed and pillows were soft with thick, warm duvet. Towels were of good quality. Electric kettle was provided with daily supply of mineral water, instant coffee (Highlands brand) and tea.
Breakfast was free with an amazing variety of food, including hot dishes which could be ordered using their menu. Staff was polite and attentive in the dining area.
Bathroom with attached toilet bidet was clean and modern. Bath robes and bedroom slippers were provided as well. And, a bathroom scale came in very useful.
Front desk and reception was most efficient and helpful. Thank you, Lucy, Hana, Kyle and Thomas and the bellhops! You helped and advised us on everything we needed to know. Each time we returned from our 'gallivanting' round town, we looked forward to seeing your warm, smiling faces. It gave us a great sense of security of not being alone in a foreign city.
We're already recommending our family and friends to stay here if ever they visit Hanoi :) And, we'll do the same if we come this way again!

Booked through Agoda.

Very pleasant stay! The hotel staff were courteous and helpful. Even offered to help me with calling the tour operator when I was waiting for my tour to pick me up.

The Junior Double room is decent and spacious. Window views were not great but I didn't mind. Room amenities were acceptable, including a decent minibar (chargeable) and free daily water bottles. There is a safe, wardrobe with hangers, a TV with some cable channels, a couch and a work desk.

There were reasonable toiletries in the bathroom too, including toothbrush/toothpaste, body soap and shampoo, a shaver and a hair dryer.

Soundproofing could be better as I could hear other people in the corridor.

Wifi is decent, at times, the LTE data through my phone was faster. The staff did not tell me the wifi password at first, so I had to ask them, but not an issue.

Breakfast is good, a mix of local and international cuisines. Sufficient enough for me. I went to the restaurant one evening at 9 pm but it was closed so I didn't get to try out dining at the restaurant.

The hotel also helped me arrange for an airport pick-up when I arrived in Hanoi, and I had no trouble finding the driver.

The location is convenient and walkable to other places in the Old Quarter area. Short walk to the Hoan Kiem lake area.

Emerald water hotel, Hanoi is unmatched in hospitality , ambience, cleanliness and a perfect location in the old quarters. I would especially like to thank Mr Tomas and his colleagues for their skilful coordination , communication and warmth . Right from the days of booking , the team kept in touch on mail and suggested very good packages to see in and around Hanoi .We availed of one such package ( including day trip to Tam Coc , half day walking trip of old quarter , two days one night at Halong Bay in a five star cruise etc) and was extremely happy with the services and the cost . Even the pick up from airport was extremely smooth . My family of 5 stayed there for five nights and my adult children were very happy too .
The hotel staff is very courteous and is very alert to the guests’ needs .
Breakfast is very tasty , healthy and fresh . Don’t miss it.
The rooms are spacious and very clean . The sheets and towels all looked new.
All major milestones are walking distance from the hotel . The whole area is dotted with fantastic eateries . We would love walking down to the lake and enjoy the reverie there .
Recommending this hotel to everyone !

I recently stayed at this hotel with some family for one night on Jan 4. We had two rooms, and they were able to upgrade one of them. The upgraded room was slightly larger, but both were very nice and had enough room.

The location is PERFECT. It was an easy walk to the lake, and plenty nearby. We stayed at another hotel previously in Hanoi, which was closer to the center of the Old Quarter, but maybe too busy for my taste. Being so close to the lake was nice, as the street around it was closed to traffic that day (Sunday perhaps?).

The staff were among the most friendly and helpful of all of our hotel stays in Vietnam! Communication by email beforehand was an added perk, and they arranged transportation to the airport for us. There is a nice small gift shop with some items like scarves and handbags. Prices are higher than what you could barter for on the street, but sometimes I prefer to pay a little more and not have the stress of bartering in a shop!

We ate at the Salmon Run for dinner. I think I have forgotten our waitresses name, perhaps Lucy? We chatted with her a lot, she had just returned to work after having a baby recently. She was definitely the highlight of our stay, and I hope management will recognize her based on my review! She taught us some words in Vietnamese, and helped my Thai mother in law to get some spicy chili sauce for her food. We really loved the personal service and attention, she made us feel at home! Also, the food was outstanding, we all had different types of salmon. Excellent!

Breakfast was ample, and delicious. Many Asian food items as well as western.

The value for the price is excellent, very clean, very friendly and great location!

I had originally booked the Golden Sun Suites Hotel in Hanoi but a week before arrival I received an email from the hotel advising that following government instruction, all the hotels within the company group had to temporarily close with the exception of Hanoi Emerald Waters Hotel & Spa. This was no problem to me for my three night stay as it was within the Hoan Kiem District which I knew from last year.

Unfortunately I was aware prior to my arrival of the cancellation of the weekend street closures and music and entertainment. I was offered a room upgrade subject to being made aware of some building noise disruption from 8am daily. This was not an issue for me and was barely noticeable. The room was extremely pleasant with a window with a typical city view. After changing, I went back downstairs to be informed that the hotel could be closing at any time and I was best advised to look for a possible alternative. With this news I had images of walking the streets with my suitcase looking for another hotel. Upon my return I was informed that following a meeting of hotel management the hotel would be staying open until the date of my departure. My flight home did not depart until 01.30am but the hotel was extremely kind to care for my case during the day and allow me to stay at reception until my taxi which the hotel had pre-booked, arrived to collect me. There were changing and shower facilities which were welcome after a day walking the streets. I offered and it was agreed to leave a little earlier 9pm in order that the remaining staff could go home. The staff could not have done more for me in these very difficult circumstances.

Unfortunately all tourist attractions were closed apart it seemed from the Hop on Hop off Bus which could at least take you to places you might like to have visited.

The hotel offered excellent breakfasts for the handful of guests staying and once again as with all hotels in Vietnam, staff were excellent and could not have done more for me. For the only time in my life, following my arrival home, I wrote a personal email of thanks to the hotel owner for all the help I received.

We stayed at the Deluxe Family Room for 5 nights, it was perfect space for 3 adults (1 elderly). The room and bathroom is clean and the housekeeping did a good job daily!

I can't compliment the staff enough, especially Bonie and Zoey who assisted us in every single way possible. Zoey communicated all information that we asked for pre-trip regarding local tour packages and airport transfer services, while Bonie helped facilitate all bookings onsite and answer our general inquiries. Bonie did a wonderful job making us feel welcomed and orientated to the local streets, and giving us a map and food recs right away!

The location of the hotel is good as it is near to many attractions, most of which are within minutes walk. This is perfect for my mom who have knee issues but would still like to walk the streets of Hanoi whenever possible (instead of taking Grab all the time).

We enjoyed a very hearty breakfast buffet every morning and it set us off right with the energy we need to tour Hanoi the rest of the day (including energy to try more food later!).

We will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends going to Hanoi and plan on staying here again in the future!

Pros: The hotel staff- one of the most hospitable staff I’ve come across, spacious and well maintained rooms, location – can walk to all the attractions in and around the Old Quarter, quick response to email communications.

Cons: Card payments incur a 3% baking processing fee.

We stayed here from 28th -31st Dec, the entire processed from bookings to room upgrades to airport transfers have been smooth. Zoey has been very responsive to all our questions and has been of great help from check in to check out providing suggestions of places to eat, things to do and was available at all times if need for any help. The hotel is located at a walking distance from the Hoan Kiem lake, Beer street, shoe market, night market and all the other nearby attractions. The rooms are quiet and AC comes with a both Hot and Cold mode which was very helpful as it was cold during our stay. The breakfast has pho, eggs, bread, salad and a few other items. The Pho is very tasty. Highly recommended for a stay when in the Old Quarter. At check out the staff escorted us till the cab.

Transfer from Hanoi Airport to the hotel is US $15. The hotel can arrange it. If you use a metered taxi it works out to be roughly the same. Not sure of the name of the company the hotel booked us to go to Halon Bay. It was very good and cost US $50 pp.for a day trip. Since we did not have too much time to spare opted for a day trip which we found adequate. Left the hotel at 8 am and got back at 8 pm. Hope this helps.
