Liked · Excellent location. Breakfast is pretty good. Front desk will book tours for you at better than brochure prices. Room was good and it was fairly quiet considering the location. Supplied extra pillows on request. Safe and reasonable minibar included.
Disliked · Hard beds. Laundry prices are too high. *There are local places nearby where you can drop off laundry in the morning and pick up same day for 25000d per kilo.

Lodged at the Rex Hotel in February 2020 for three nights. Hotel is on a busy street just a few blocks from the Kiem Lake. Right in the heart of the Old Quarter, Service is very focused and rooms spotless. On the ninth floor they serve a marvelous breakfast with incredible diversity- make sure you have an egg coffee. Request and executive room with large window- didn't understand the significance when booking. Our room faced the street and had a small balcony where we could enjoy coffee.

Enjoy your stroll around the Haon Kiem District especially around the lake at twilight- lots of locals and kids playing. Eat dinner along the old streets at one of the spots where the locals eat outside on very small stools! Food is fabulous.

Rally can't go wrong when booking this hotel

We stayed at the Rex either side of a Ha Long Bay trip and so we had two different rooms - one a simple one for a quick overnight and the other a larger room for our having a little more time. Nothing was too much trouble for the front desk who were really great. They checked with us when our taxis were due to pick us up and when they were late they were on hand to check up for us by ringing our contact numbers - really useful when you have no Vietnamese. That sort of attention to detail was typical.

The location was useful too - right in the middle of the Old Town and the bedlam of the streets and traffic but all was peace and tranquility as soon as the door was opened for you. There's a lovely rooftop bar, pool and terrace with views across the city in which we were able to relax before returning to the lovely madness.

We traveled in the middle of February. We were 3 friends and booked 2 rooms. During check-in they have upgraded our room. The staffs at front desk, restaurant, bar, room service were very cordial, attentive and helpful.

The hotel is located at the center of Old Quarter. Within few minutes walking distance you will find Hoan Kiem lake, restaurants, bar.

The rooms were comfortable, clean and had all the standard facilities. Though the Hotel size is small (all hotels are small in Old Quarter), but the rooms are well spacious. And this is one of the very few hotels in Old Quarter that has a swimming pool. The pool is in top floor beside the bar and small. It is good for relaxing instead of swimming.

The hotel is centrally located off just one of two streets from the lake and bustling night life of Old Quarter. It can be a bit noisy during the nights of the weekend markets but I would imagine you’ll encounter that problem at just about any hotel in that area.

I’m not sure if this issue was due to the large language barrier or not but we did encounter a few less than pleasant experiences with the staff outside of the front desk and restaurant staff. It makes sense as their English wasn’t as clear as their associates, but hey, I speak zero Vietnamese so I will chock the side eyes and faces up to lack of communication.

We did greatly enjoy our experience on the roof top and receive stellar assistance from the waitstaff for dinner and drinks. The views from up here were phenomenal also.

Overall I’d stay here again for the price and location. We didn’t book anything other than a car directly through the hotel but they did go the extra step in preparing a small take away breakfast for us since we had a very early flight upon checkout which we appreciated.

In the heart of old town of Hanoi,a great location to enjoy the night life of this vibrant and so diverse city, staff were absolutely professional, friendly and polite. They offered us an early check in without an additional charge due our early arrival after an exhausting flight inbthe morning. Such a quick response to any minor issues e.g. wifi in the room, breakfast was also delicious.

My stay at Rex Hanoi Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. The staff’s commitment to providing outstanding service truly set this establishment apart. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive assistance throughout my stay, every team member went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable experience. The rooms were not only tastefully designed but also immaculately maintained, reflecting a keen eye for detail. The hotel’s central location made exploring Hanoi convenient, and the staff’s recommendations for local attractions and dining were spot-on. Rex Hanoi Hotel’s dedication to hospitality transformed my visit into a delightful and memorable escape. Highly recommended for those seeking both luxury and genuine care during their stay in Hanoi.

It was absolutely pleasure staying at this hotel. Everything (literally) is in walking distance and the staffs are very hospitable. The room was big, tidy and clean. Brekafast options are decent.

Plenty of sessional fruits, decent amount of patisseries.

Wouldn’t hesitate re-booking my next trip.

We stayed one night before our trip to Halong Bay. The shower flooded the bathroom despite using a shower curtain. They had tried to install a piece of wood on floor to trap the spilled water but it didn't manage to do the job. There was a lot of construction noise nearby and noise from the street as windows not effective in blocking it. Also lots of echoing noise from corridor. The swimming pool was next to the path and stairs up to breakfast room so not very welcoming. We were due to stay a further 2 nights but asked our tour operator to find us a different hotel. This would normally have been possible without charge but hotel charged us 65 USD as they had offered an alternative room. As we didn't want to spoil the last 2 nights of our holiday we paid the charge and had a much nicer stay at The Light Hotel.

Hi. 1. Our airport pickup dropped us off right outside the hotel. The strees are small and busy, but I don't know if it's a problem dropping off visitors during the most busy hours of the day. 2. We had no windows, except one inside the hotel..But with the curtains infront of windows, it was calm and cool. 3. The pool on the roof was a good place to cool down, after walking around the city:)

Which rooms offer a balcony - sitting or standing is fine. Thanks in advance.

I had an ‘executive’ Room and I had a balcony. There’s not much of a view and it’s tiny so I didn’t even go outside. My room was facing the street so it was very noisy (up to midnight or so) which was pretty annoying. My friends had a standard room and none of them had a balcony and they had no issue with noise. The standard and the executive rooms are exactly the same size, just different price.
