After reading the reviews we were expecting a steal of a deal, but it was definitely not the case. First, I should say that the staff was pleasant enough. Upon arrival, we were taken up to a dark third floor (no hallway lights...) and were shown a closet of a room where the bed took up the entire room and... More

Two of us shared us a double room in A dong hotel for 3 nights all together (either side of a Halong bay tour). The fantastic location is what makes this place great, a short walk from everything the old quarter has to offer, including some immense 80k BBQ. The staff were very very friendly, and spoke good English. Wifi... More

We were transferred here when we were told our original booking with sister hotel had overbooked. Room to start is pretty shabby, doesn't like its photos on this - we had to ask for an extra sheet as one of the sheets was dirty with stains. Air con stopped working at 9pm and we had to go down to reception... More

Didn't get spoken to at all when checking in, just handed a key. No real issues with that but not great service, next day went for breakfast at 9:25 (most hotels stop at 10) to be told they had stopped, kinda our own fault we thought for not asking but we found out later 9:30 was the last time, the... Okay so very cheap and in a pretty handy location however Dong does not look like its photos. The lady at reception was very nice and helpful. However our room was dark, no natural light at all, and not the cleanest. Sheets had hairs etc on them. Very very basic. Luckily we had only booked for one night or we... More

Arrived after a long day of travel to be told immediately before we had taken our bags off that our motorbikes had to be parked up the road. That's fine apart from the car park was full. We returned to ask where else we could try and were given no help. Our room had two cockroaches scuttling around and our... More

We booked a few nights stay here before planning to head to Sapa. The room was basic but had absolutely everything we needed. One of the comfiest beds in Vietnam, hot powerful shower, great aircon and good wifi (a bit intermittent but that's the norm in Asia!) From the moment we arrived all the staff made us feel so welcome.... More

Booked here just to stay before and after halong bay. We had room 301 had to lug our bags up numerous flights of stairs. Air con didn't work and wifi didn't work. This place gets a 10/10 from me. Nice clean hotel with good rooms in a really great location in the old quarter, stones throw away from the lake and good range or restaurant and bars. Tours and travel can also be organised at the hotel. However, the best thing about this hotel was the reception staff, especially Sam as she... More
