Detailed Reviews
Spent 5 wonderful nights at The Rising Dragon Estate Hotel in Hanoi. The location is great. Rooms are clean & very comfortable. The 2 receptionists Joy and Cookie are outstanding. Very polite. No request was too much for them. They went the extra mile to ensure that all my needs were attended to. As long as Joy & Cookie are at the Rising Dragon Estate Hotel I will highly recommend the hotel

We were here about 4 nights.
Dislocation is suitable to walk around the city center of Ha Nội.
Silent area. There are supermarket here and traditional food restaurants.
Quality service, clean room and nice hotel stuff!

We booked this hotel last minute and couldn't be happier with it, staff were all very friendly also giving tips of things to do nearby, room was large and exceptionally clean. Hotel is very close to train street and within walking distance to many pubs and restaurants. Highly recommend this hotel

I don't know which room these photos are from, but it's not one of the 4 rooms I stayed in or any of my fellow Intrepid Tour travel mates stayed in. The hallway carpets are filthy, the bathrooms barely function, the rooms look out over piles of back alley garbage, the air con units are elderly, leak and likely spew mold, my rooms smelled like cigarette smoke and the cleaning standard is minimal. The artwork has a thick layer of greasy dust in it. Several times I got off the elevator to find young men hanging out in the hallway (they ran away when they saw me) and dirty dishes piled on the stairs. The front desk is nice, the cab fare posted to the airport is fair and laundry service is available at a reasonable rate. The hotel has a good location but there are better hotels for similar prices nearby. It's a no from me.

+1
We stayed here for one night and although the staff were very friendly, the location was excellent and it was super cheap we left after one night stay. The air con in our room barely worked and we had no window in our room so it was very claustrophobic and hot. The room was filthy and the vent in the bathroom looked really unhealthy. As backpackers we are not picky but this was not even worth the $7 we paid.

We had a lovely, comfortable stay at Rising Dragon Estate Hotel. The receptionist couldn't have done more to help us and welcome us in our first few days in Vietnam. I had problems with my visa and arrived late to Vietnam after my friend. We both appreciated the kindness of the receptionist. Clean, friendly and comfortable, the location of the hotel is excellent.

Hotel has great location and the reception team were very friendly. Booked our Ha Giang loop and Ha Long Bay trip for us and at a very reasonable price. We used the hotel as base camp to leave our large travelling bags and took smaller bags for our 3 different excursions around Vietnam.

This is the first time that I leave a review on tripadvisor. I have to write because of the incident that happened to us.
We booked a deluxe twin after looking at the pictures on Booking.com and also contacted the hotel in advance to make sure if the room is exactly like the picture (We wanted to make sure if the bedroom has enough room for two twin beds). They said yes, so we decided to book a deluxe room (More expensive with bigger bedroom area) instead of superior room (Cheaper with a tiny bed room). Both rooms have a separate living room area according to the pictures.
After we arrived, we were taken to a superior room! To our surprise, they put an extra bed in the living room (The mattress was directly put on the floor without a bed frame!!!) We immediately told the bell boy that that was not the room that we booked. He didn't really speak English but after a while he seemed to have understood and told us that he would bring someone to discuss. We waited and waited with no person coming.
We went downstairs and told the person at the reception about the issue. She just kept saying the room was a deluxe room. We had to show her the room pictures that they put their own website. The picture for their superior room exactly looked like the room that they gave us. It was obvious that she was wrong.
After some arguments, she finally contacted the manager. She said a deluxe room is not available since it was all booked but instead she could give us a suite room in Rising Dragon Grand hotel. Since we have already lost our precious time, we just accepted the offer.
The second room that was given to us was NOT a suite at all. It was a medium-sized room with a queen sized bed and a twin bed with no other space left. There was no separate living room. We felt disappointed but decided to live with the situation since we had only two nights in Hanoi.
I contacted Booking.com letting them know what we experienced. Booking.com contacted the hotel and forwarded the hotel's response. It was more or less the same reaction that we got at the hotel. He even said that he couldn't understand why we are still complaining although he gave us a suite (This is not true. We did NOT get a suite. We just got a standard room).
I have to say that their management is pretty shady telling us and Booking.com multiple lies.
I think some people who have booked a deluxe double room may not have even noticed that they might have been given a superior room instead of deluxe if they didn't need two twin bed because superior room itself does look nice except for the smaller size. I have a feeling that the hotel management is taking advantage of this confusing situation: They let people book a more expensive deluxe room and actually give you a superior room (Cheaper room).
I just want to worn other travelers that this hotel is really shady. Be aware!

We booked this room one month in advance specifying the deluxe with twin beds. Arrived there we had a room with only one bed plus a tiny one on the floor. We expressed we were upset but nothing to do. The receptionist said that in the upper rooms ther will be noise because of construction work next door. The result was that I didn t sleep because of the hard matress plus the noise of the street and construction work early morning. I won t talk about the sheets and pillows smelling which made assume that they did not clean it between two guests. The driver was not at the airport as it was arranged so we had to call them and wait. The breakfast was less than average. Not the service we expect for $70.. very disappointed.

Stayed for a night as a upgrade from Rising Dragon Villa where the renovations next door was getting too noisy and dusty. First, they failed to put all our 3 rooms on the same floor as per promised when Villa's staff checked with them the day before. Next, they gave us 2 rooms on the 8th floor, when the lift only services 1st to 7th floor. We had a 92-year old with us and the receptionist had the cheej to say it was alright for her to take the steep flight of stairs up and down. Thirdly, the rooms were not fully furnished and housekeeping had been inadequate with basics like towels. We were denied extra pillowd when we put in a request, being told by a very smug receptionist that the entitlement was one each guest! Lastly, when we asked her to help us book a mpv taxi, she just flagged down 2 sedans with the excuse that we would not fit into a 7 seater (we had been taking taxis in the previous 3 days and know better). Although the hotel manager tried to explain away the bad experience on the hotel's newness and inexperienced and shortage of staff, and was extra nice before we checked out, it was already too late. I would not stay here unless you are offerred a unbelievably low rate and are able and fit.
