I have celiacs disease and usually rely on getting some steamed rice at breakfast as a safe and filling option. Staff blatantly said no because there is a fried rice option. I explained I can't have soy sauce and the staff just said they couldn't do it. All I ate this morning was a small range of fruit. Also, our...

Staff friendly but hotel leaves much to be desired. Clean room, BUT the noisiest place to stay. Felt like the windows were wide open. Had to check twice that they were actually shut as so much noise could hardly sleep. Roof top terrace has good views over city if you stand up, but plants and railings completely obscure the view...

We stayed here with our two children, in a suite room. It was very spacious, and we loved the balcony and views. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was great, and the pool was just enough to keep the kids happy on a hot day. We booked directly through the hotel, and got a great price. Ms Jenny was also very...

Not a hotel I would recommend based mainly on some very strange quirks in the building layout (I stayed here twice when going through Hanoi as part of a group tour) and I can best describe it as seeming like several buildings have been knocked into one. My first room was poor – peeling in parts, a smell of mould...

Walking distance to many shops but extremely dangerous to cross the road to get anywhere as there is so much traffic. Hotel itself is quite run down. There is sticky tape holding up the shower and our room was located right next to an elevator which was also right next to a staircase with a sheer drop down to the...

The hotel is in an ideal location to explore Hanoi as its 2 minutes walk to the lake and right in the heart of the old quarter for its hustle and bustle. The rooms are a little dated and the overall hotel could do with a bit of a clean and updating. That said for a couple of nights its...

The old quarter of Hanoi is a mad crazy place with noise hustle bustle scooters galore and people. A great experience but to step into an area of calm in the middle of the chaos provides some welcome relief. The hotel was great. Staff friendly, rooms clean and a double bed at least two metres wide. The ensuite was ok...

As always staff were very pleasant and helpful when we were able to make ourselves understood. Good sized single beds was welcome for friends travelling together as was a very good size room corner room (we had ear plugs so managed despite the noise outside. Location was great and we were able to get out and explore the Old quarter...

The May de Ville Hotel is comfortable and well located in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. My 5th floor room had a street view which is interesting but can be a bit noisy (welcome to Vietnam). The breakfasts in the top floor restaurant were quiet OK with plenty of options and the ubiquitous omelette station is a great standby. There were basic...
