Detailed Reviews
I used Luxury Backpackers as my "base" in Hanoi and I'm so glad I did. The location is ideal, facilities are clean, the beds comfortable, the free breakfast tasty and filling. But what really stands out is the staff - they go above and beyond to make your stay great. They always offered to carry my bag to my room when I arrived (it's a little heavy), always asked what my plans are and where I'm traveling, and were happy to help whenever I needed it.
For example, a few days before arriving at the hotel I had to book a bus online to Sapa to make sure I would have space. Even though I didn't book through the hotel, one of the staff, Liam, insisted on calling the company and made sure they confirmed my booking and knew where to pick me up. They also gave me breakfast early because my bus left before they opened the breakfast buffet!
The bus I did book through them may have been on the expensive side, but it was a great company and very comfortable, and so it was worth the money in my opinion.
Thank you Luxury Backpackers!

When we initially arrived in Hanoi two weeks ago we stayed for four nights at Luxury Backpackers Guesthouse. The accommodations here are very good and the location is excellent within the old quarter of Hanoi. One positive note is the decent breakfast that you get every morning. What helps the place stand out though is the excellent service that we’ve received from the staff, Daniel in particular.
One small improvement that could be made is to have yoghurt available at the complementary breakfast.

dont believe the good reviews.. money robbing company instead of hostel .. they change ur money worse rate than the airport does . They charge you for laundry 2 dollars per kilo instead of 0.5, rent a “bike” for 8 dollars instead of 6, and charge 3 days sapa tour 115 dollars , when every other place offers the same for 77 dollars !! also I rented “bike” from them, after I fully tanked it , broke down in the suburbs , i spent 2 hours finding someone who helped me call them for help.. they didnt even say sorry , only the next day , and asked for gas station receipt : dd wtf like places like this give you receipt ! they gave me back my money but offered no bike for the rest of the day which I think is the minimum in these kind of situations !!!! room and bed is clean , bathroom not . recommend to spend the night here but nothing more .

Me and dad had a good stay at Luxury Backpackers Hanoi. I was upgraded for one night to a bigger room on the fourth floor. My dad stayed in a good room on the second floor. One small things about my room on both 4th floor(one night upgraded) and 3rd floor (the rest of the stay) is about the hot water supply. Hot water supply was not very stable because the water tank may not be able to provide steady hot water for all the rooms on the same floor. Other than that, every thing was good. Breakfast was good with variety, staff are nice and helpful. Location was excellent: close to Cathedral and 10-15 mins walks to the Lake. Lots of restaurants and cafes around the area. Highly recommended.

Great hostel. Dorm rooms have very spacious beds and lots of room for belongings and also a locker. Staff are very easy to check in and out and also very knowledgeable of information for the surrounding area. If you’re looking for a quiet hostel with good rooms and staff this is definitely the right one in Hanoi.

We loved staying at Luxury Backpackers! The staff was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and made sure all of the tours we had booked were legit. Our private room was pretty spacious and had both AC and a fan. 3 girls age 21-23 and felt super safe staying there

It’s been hard to pick just one place in Vietnam that had been the most comfortable for me to stay, but Thomas and Luxury Backpackers Hanoi has to be one of the best. I’ve been here for three weeks, and when I got back from my trip up north, Thomas was the friendly face who checked me in when I was tired and ready to rest and relax. He even carried my luggage up five flights of stairs!
The facilities were clean, the room was cozy and private, the showers were among the biggest I’ve seen in VN—and unlike most stays here, you don’t need a card to activate the electricity. That’s good for hot water and cool rooms. Everything else is what I’ve come to expect, but Thomas’s friendliness put it over the top. Five stars!

My dorm room was very good. Beds had curtains, power outlets, storage space, and other convenient features. The staff were very helpful when I booked a bus to Ha Giang and Thuan especially helped me cancel the return portion of the ticket even though the tickets are usually non refundable. There is not much of a common area to meet other travelers but the facilities and location were good.

Yes, dorms have individual lockers. They’re big drawers under the beds. They also feature shelves with compartments at the end of the bed, very comfy indeed and individual bed lights too
It's the last one, but you can get a cheaper bus the 17 from the domestic airport. You take a shuttle from the international terminal, and walk downstairs to the local buses. It's about 10 VND it's a 20 min walk though.
