Really enjoyed my short stay in Hanoi at the Meritel! From the moment we arrived, the bell boy promptly took our bags and helped us to cross the street and we were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink while checking in. The entire hotel- from the lobby, restaurant and the rooms has a luxurious ambience and was clearly thoughtfully designed. The beds in the rooms were really comfortable and despite being in a busy street, it was really quiet at night offering us good sleep. The bar on top is not to be missed- the bartender offered us curated drinks and it has a nice view of the city. The breakfast was pretty decent as well and everything was delicious. It was also really easy to walk from the hotel and it was near some really nice eateries.
The one thing that really stands out about this hotel is the service though. All the staff (bell boy, check in staff, restaurant staff, swimming pool attendant and bartender) were extremely friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. A special shoutout to the check in staff- Ho Thinh Quynh who was extremely friendly and helpful during our checking in and out. Really impressed with the level of service that was offered at such a small hotel and would highly recommend anyone to stay at this remarkable place for the value and location.

A beautiful hotel, hadn’t realised it had only opened in August last year. They ran a very slick hotel. They helped sort out our trip to Halong bay so that we could do a 2 day 1 night trip and then return to the hotel, it was handled effortlessly, nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel is located in a very busy area, but once inside the hotel you felt an immediate calmness. We loved to sit at the roof bar, even when it was cold, they provided heaters and blankets. The staff were wonderful, especially the guys running the roof bar. This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in whilst travelling through Vietnam. Would definitely come back here.

Excellent hotel. Good price. Excellent location near the train street, markets and old quarter. Staff are extremely kind and helpful and Mike especially went above and beyond to help us with recommendations, check on our trip plans, give us water etc. Room was quiet, pillows soft and fluffy and we had one of the best sleeps we had in vietnam, noise level not too bad especially given the city centre location. Rooms immaculate also. Restaurant had good food- tried the pho and bun cha at reasonable prices and they were tasty.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough! I went with my partner in December, we decided to treat ourselves by staying here, as the hotel is right in the centre and looked stunning! It did not disappoint and the facilities and service were impeccable. We enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to book the rest of our stay there, between day tours and for our final nights before our flight back. We booked the Deluxe room to begin with and then the Junior suite, both of which were really spacious, clean and the beds were big and comfortable, the pillows were very comfy as sometimes we find in other hotels they tend to be too hard.
The staff there are wonderful, we managed to book two tours through the hotel (day trip to Ninh Binh and overnight cruise to Ha Long Bay) which we had recommendations from them on what we wanted and they guided us on what to book of which the Ha Long Bay tour was one of the highlights of this trip. We also got really good advice on places to exchange money, they organised the SIM cards and the phone set up for us without us having to leave the hotel someone came to us (very useful to have internet whilst you’re walking around), they organised pick up and drop of of taxis for us to the airport, and lots of good food and drink recommendations and tourist attractions, a big special thank you Moon and Mike for doing all this for us!
The hotel is so lovely and I wish I’d taken more photos of it to be honest, my favourites were the rooftop pool with beautiful views of Hanoi, the rooftop bar and of course the spa! I had a back massage and used their jacuzzi and sauna, was the perfect way to relax and go back quickly to the comfort of the room, which for the facilities and experience were really well priced (in the UK you’d be paying so much more for that kind of treatment, I was even given a selection of oils to choose from for the aromatherapy massage) and the hotel give discounts too for the treatments! Thank you to Hoa for organising it, guiding me on the treatments and the masseuse for the massage!
The breakfast was included in the room price and was fantastic with a big range of food, drinks and desserts. I often ordered an omelette, had lots of fruit from the fruit selection and ordered a flat white from the coffee station! Thanks to Woody, Uyen and all the others for looking after us.
Big thanks to Moon, Mike, Woody, Hanh, Uyen, Hoa and everyone else, you guaranteed we had a great time and we had an unforgettable holiday and experience!

I stayed at this hotel in Hanoi Twice once pre and once post an excursion to Halong Bay, I cannot recommend this hotel enough to anybody who wants to stay, it is nice clean and affordable, it is a welcoming calming atmosphere inside. The staff go above and beyond from helping you carry bags into the hotel, to constantly serving complimentary tea and fruit when in the lobby and finally when you arrive they serve you tea and snacks whilst a member of staff gives you and in depth guide to Hanoi and what the city offers and what to do, this sort of service is so good. The room was large, clean and light, with a mini bar and complimentary food, it provides a hairdryer, combs, cotton buds and more, the shower is large, powerful and warm. The rooftop infinity pool is amazing with close to ten seats and I never saw them all occupied. The spa, is peaceful and offers a fantastic massage at a good price. I ate at the on site restaurant only once and the food was amazing, the fact guest get a large discount on food makes it all the better, with a mix of traditional Vietnamese food and then also food from all around the world. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anybody who asked and would happily stay here again.

We were really impressed by the Meritel Hotel's beautiful frontage, lobby and French influenced decor and ambience. Our rooms were spotless and gorgeously decorated. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the location in the heart of Hanoi at the entrance to the Old Quarter but we asked for a room not facing the street so it was very peaceful. But the stand-out was the service we received from every single person working at the Hotel. Rarely have we seen such a cohesive team come together and provide such a welcoming experience. We highly recommend this oasis In bustling Hanoi as one of our favourites in Vietnal after 5 trips over 30 years.

I am a visitor needing a clean, fun, business class hotel experience in the heart of the old quarter, to learn Vietnamese, sample all the best food and feel at home. Meritel did that for me.
Meritel has clean brand new furniture. The staff, especially the doormen, managers, bar staff, the spa staff, the cleaners and the Pool man were so incredibly welcoming and helpful. I made repeat visits to the bar because of the bar guys
The hotel is one of the very few offering a business class lobby, with space to do remote working and meetings, without the noise and with a very classy environment that you will want to turn off your blur background feature
Guests should definitely ask for Lan in the spa who has many years experience with therapeutic massages. She fixed my feet, and was such a joy to talk to. I went back twice! Even when I stayed at another hotel!
I don’t know the names, but virtually, every hotel staff that wore black rimmed glasses provided an unbeatable hotel experience for me. I had endless conversations about food, culture, language, movies that I rarely needed to leave the hotel.
Unfortunately, I was there during a busy time, so I had to eventually move to another hotel. Watching one of the receptionist rescue a street dog made me want to stay longer!

Good location. A walk down the road past shops and you're at the lake or take any one of the cyclo's plying the street.
Bed comfortable, good shower, quiet aircon room quiet except for door slammers in other rooms coming home at all hours. Would be worthwhile investing in resolving this somehow. And put some felt on bottom of chairs in rooms. And then in the morning cleaning staff talk loudly on walkie-talkies in the hallways to wake you up .. am sure this is really resolved also.
Breakfast buffet very good. Espresso coffee is not included unlike in hotels stayed at in Ho Chi Minh, Bangkok and just about any other city. Espresso more expensive than back home. Same with cocktails. Odd considering the average monthly wage is $US200.
Having said that, lovely pool on the roof with a view out over part of the nearby city and similarly the other end of the roof is the bar. Good places to get away from busy Hanoi streets.
Staff make the place as all are very helpful and friendly.

Booked initially for two nights but ended up staying over a week in the Deluxe Room with window and later the Junior Suite. We found these to be good value by Western Standards (more below). The hotel is very modern and is of a boutique style.
Can't recommend this hotel enough as it's situated in the centre of Hanoi, has a rooftop bar with pool, spa facilities plus gym, very clean, excellent breakfast and phenomenal staff. The rooms are of a good size and cleaned every day. All of the main attractions are within a 10-15 minute walk.
Something which was refreshing to see is that there were a lot of staff who were very attentive as this is not as common where we usually holiday in Europe. The hotel has multiple customer service advisors who check up on you regularly and provide recommendations on restaurants, attractions etc which we found useful.
We booked several tours through the hotel including an overnight boat cruise to Halong Bay and a day trip to Ninh Binh which were excellent and very reasonable. The hotel also offer airport pick up/drop off which we used on several occasions for around £15 which is around 30-40 mins each way.
If you are a light sleeper than I would recommend that you opt for a room at the rear/middle of the hotel as there can be heavy street noise to the front of the hotel up until around 11pm. We did not find this to be an issue as we went to sleep after 11pm when there is a significant drop off in road activity. Ear plugs are provided in rooms which face onto the street.
Special thanks to Moon, Mike, Woody, Hanh, Blair, Uyen etc who went the extra mile for us to make our trip memorable. Look forward to returning at some point in the future!

We came back from travelling outside Hanoiand wanted so etching close to Hoàn Kiem Lake, this seemed to fit the bill, well priced and in a great location.what we didn't know was it's almost brand new. The staff are out of this world, nothing is a problem for them, in fact they look for things to do for you. Rooms are smallish as is the case in ,out hotels in Hanoi but they're comfortable, we have an Executive room with extra large comfy bed and everything you need. There's a great roof top pool, gym and the rooftop bar will open later in the year. All in all we'll be back, in fact we are & we've just extended another couple of nights.
