The hotel was clean, the breakfasts AMAZING especially the Vietnamese style breakfast. The one thing I'm really not happy about is that the rooms don't have safes. I had brought cash for a tour I was going to go on later, and since there was no safe I carefully hid the money out of sight. Once I went to pay...

Please do not misunderstand my 5 point rating: Joseph's Hang Da Hotel is not the best hotel in Hanoi. No spa, no valet parking, no oysters for breakfast. Okay, and no elevator. It's just a charming little place to stay, thoughtfully run by people who care about their guests, at a very low price. The owner, Brian from New Zealand,...

We stayed here at start of our 9 weeks in Vietnam and loved our time here with Brian and his crew. I can now from experience confirm they have the best breakfasts in all Vietnam, great people who really looked after us. Handy location with double glazing which is a blessing anywhere in Vietnam. Highly recommended.

I had the pleasure of staying here in early October. I stayed four nights and it began to feel like home. The location is perfect. In the old town and only an easy 20 minute walk to the train station. The rooms are comfortable, nice beds, very nice bathroom. The hotel is quiet and the stay couldn't be more helpful....

Wish we'd stayed here our whole time in Hanoi but only had last night here. Funky, modern hotel. Super friendly staff. Great rooms with apt furniture, free water, tea & coffee, air con, TV etc. Great bathroom with real shower with glass screen (leaked a little but didn't matter). Brilliant breakfast- was so nice to have yogurt and museli after...

This is my new favorite since it is easier for me to get picked up in the morning while in Hanoi on business. Great rooms, price and staff. Good breakfast and a good location. There is no elevator but they take your bags up and down for you. The front rooms (101, 201, etc) are the best. The location is...

Joseph's Hang Da Hotel is conveniently located in the middle of Hanoi's old town centre. Even before we arrived, the hotel's owner, Brian, helped us organise a trip to Halong Bay which was a success. He also arranged for a local tourism student to show us round the sights of Hanoi - a really interesting experience being guided by a...

After my unhappy experience with Liberty Hotel due to faulty airconditioning, my friend and I packed our bags and moved to this hote--and we never regretted our decision. The hotel is very clean! The room is big, clean and organized. The toilet is squeaky clean as well...and as my friend said, "they have a hair blower!". The aircon is working...

A friend recommended this hotel to me. This couldn't be better : a well equipped en suite room for a moderate price. Breakfast is included in the price (and very tasty). The staff is friendly and efficient without being pushy (under the capable guidance of Brian, the owner) : it felt good to come home to this place. JOSEPH'S H.D....

Very nice laid back hotel in a good location. Rooms are great for the price, Very friendly and helpful staff and a surprisingly good breakfast with cold items available self serve and I had a really good omelet with bacon and toast and a nice French press coffee. Will definitely be back!

“Wifi was really good. I used it to teach for up to 6 hours every day via Skype and had no problems. Go to the place across the road for the famous fish dish and one of the beer places on the corner. Brian is always happy to recommend places to eat or grab a coffee. It feels a bit like staying at your uncle's place.”
