We found the Calypso Grand Hotel through the reviews on Trip Advisor. It seemed to be a good fit for our needs . We made our reservations for 7 nights via e-mail and a telephone conversation with Linda Nguyen, the manager. The hotel is located on the western edge of Hanoi's Old Quarter. The location proved to be excellent as...

I booked this hotel based on reviews here on Tripadvisor. The location of the hotel is in the old quarter and is a 10-15 minute walk to the lake/ night markets, a 20 minute walk to the HCM Mausoleum and a 15 minute walk to the citadel. There aren't too many restaurants in the area, but there are a few...

Staff were incredible and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was generous with both western and traditional options available. The room was very spacious and decorated nicely. Bed was very comfortable - two pillows as opposed to one would be nice although I'm sure had we requested this it would have been done instantly. There was some mould around the...

This lovely little hotel was a real find. I stayed here a few days ago with my husband and son and it was faultless. The welcome is super friendly and you are greeted with a welcome drink. They cannot do enough for you. We dealt mostly with Linda and Flower who were both fabulous, but the boys on the reception...

Location is excellent in the heart of Hanoi and a short distance from the lake and local attractions. A good clean and high standard hotel. Great service from all the staff who were willing to meet every need.

This is a nice little hotel right in the hustle of the old quarter and easy walking distance to the other areas. If you want a nice place to crash after a day of exploring I would recommend. The staff are really friendly and very helpful...even giving little tips on how to cross the roads, if you've been, you'll know...

Calypso looked like one of those hotels which would have been the best hotels at one time. It's a neat and clean hotel but lacks a little finesse. The best part about the hotel is the people . Warm welcoming and extremely caring. The most touching part was that they packed breakfast for us without asking, when they knew we...

We have chosen this hotel by reference of our close friends who went here before. Since we planned to roam around the city and do not spend much time in hotel this place looked like perfect stay, the only disadvantage we had there was no window in the room. The interior is nice and you have everything what you need...

What a decrepit hostal is this ? I stayed exactly 1 night, my GF couldn't stand all the dirt and noise anymore. This "hotel", to put it politely is located amid the very worst area of Hanoi (really no need to lie,it was terrible) . The old quarter has nothing at all to do with a picturesque place for romantic-loving...

The room is very comfortable and nice. Staff are very friendly, they recommend great places to visit and place to try the local foods. They transfer us to another sister hotel on our last night where is nearby to the hanoi lake. However, we still think the best stay is with Calypso Grand Hotel which their services are excellent and...
