The location was excellent, very center! We were able to walk to most places we wanted to visit otherwise we took a quick uber to where we wanted to go. The staff was very nice and helpful. Since this is a new hotel everything felt very fresh. We were lucky to have a window in our room but not all rooms have windows. Tried afternoon tea one day but almost everything was non vegetarian so we left. I thought the breakfast was ok, it was nothing special. Lacked vegetarian options and all the pastries were store bought nothing was homemade nor was the bread. The yogurt was also sweetened with sugar, you have to ask for a packet of regular yogurt if you want unsweetened.

To be honest I did not expect to love this hotel as much as I did when I was booking it, but it completely outdid itself. It`s a small boutique hotel with a modern minimalistic interior design in the rooms, which I appreciated because it felt very clean, efficient, but at the same time cozy and inviting. There is a rooftop pool, that is lit up at night creating a perfect atmosphere, the view from the rooftop is outstanding.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming, we would chat with them about which places to visit and where to dine, and got the best recommendations. I also loved lobby decorations in a traditional Vietnamese style and their photos of local life, it felt very artsy. Location of this hotel is so convenient for anyone who is traveling for business, all of my meetings were in district 1 and this place is located on the most central street with a walking proximity to all landmarks. Overall would recommend to everyone, next time I`m in HCMC I know where I will be staying :)

Let me start with the positives. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. The hotel and rooms are clean and seem relatively new. The rooftop bar/deck/pool offers a nice, enjoyable retreat.

Now the negatives. The rooms are small! And they feel smaller do to a “fake” window. To be accurate, it’s a real window, but it opens into a narrow shaft, which allows light from the roof many floor above. From my window, directly across the light shaft (like three feet away), is the window of the neighboring room. Creepy! So for privacy concerns, my curtains needed to be drawn, creating a very closed-in feeling. The ICON likes to boast a free minibar. I’ve traveled extensively and I’m familiar with hotel minibars. This minibar was stocked with one regular soda, one diet soda, two Lipton green tea drinks (yuck!) and two waters. Now, most international hotels already offer free bottled water. This reduces the ICON minibar to four items! No beer. No wine. No snacks. Stop calling it a free minibar! The pool was unusable for my comfort level! The water was so cloudy, I could not see the bottom rung of the ladder. I have a pool at home. Cloudy water is not healthy, balanced water. It was a hot day in Saigon and a dip in the pool after a day of touring sounded refreshing. Not in this pool water!

Conclusion, great hotels at good prices are abundant in Saigon. Search elsewhere for that great hotel when visiting this vibrant city.

We had many issues during our stay. I mostly attribute the issues to it being a brand new hotel and despite the fact that it’s a new hotel that needs to improve in many ways, we would probably stay there again because the pro’s of the hotel out weigh the con’s and the staff were always extremely receptive and willing and able to resolve all of our issues. The amazing staff along with the excellent location and value are worth overlooking the other shortcomings which will hopefully be a thing of the past after they get through their growing pains. Truly, the only thing that might keep us from staying there again is that the pool is not heated.

Icon hotel is a pleasant surprise. Our trip was a long one, takingus to different sites in Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia and Icon was one of the places where we could rest a little between them. The breakfast was excellent in variety, quality and services. The rooms could be a little bigger and most have indoors windows, that is, they face an indoors corridor/shaft with an skylight instead of facing the outside; but they were well laid out, decorated, with plenty of fresh fruit, water, and textiles in good condition. We have no complaints regarding its tidiness. The hotel staff was always friendly and helpful, very professional and the hotel is very well located, making it easy to access several points of interest in the city of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). You can also take advantage of the rooftop bar/swimming pool as an option for a last-minute drink, to relax before a night sleep. However, on the last day something quite unpleasant happened. For lack of a better term (and because it is the same one that applies in this case) a idiot decided to ruin everyone's breakfast by sitting at a central table and during the meal he took out an electric cigar and smoked like a real animal. He was politely asked by one of the staff not to do so as it was a non-smoking hotel, which he completely ignored. It was asked to a person who later arrived at the same table and they both laughed. Someone appeared who we suspected was a manager and simply filmed/recorded the situation in his mobile. Several employees came to apologize to us and the other guests and when we questioned the reason for the situation, we were told that the idiot was a VIP guest, invited by the hotel and therefore felt entitled to do whatever he wanted. We said we witnessed they did everything they could and who failed was the management, who wasn't able to protect guests and employees from an animal like that. We have a video of everything described here, but there is no way to attach it to this comment. There is a photo of the idiot, with the electronic cigar next to him, on the table.

Just stayed 7 nights overall the room was comfortable had one facing street with a balcony some of the rooms have no windows. Breakfast had plenty of Vietnamese food options and excellent coffee made to order by friendly young team. Free mini bar included in the room rate was handy location was excellent walking distance to most of the major attractions in district one. They are renovating the pool area very small pool tried to use the restaurant almost impossible as not open until after 5pm the Eatery where you have breakfast is beautiful but not open for other food. Free afternoon tea served each day 3.00pm -4.30pm with coffee tea juice and different finger food. Had a pleasant stay the renovations and restaurant hours where annoying staff tried very hard.

This was unbelievably scary - it could have been so much worse but I was fortunate and lucky enough to have only suffered with a deep laceration in my right heel.
I slid the glass door opened and it literally erupted all over me.. leaving prickly shards on my skin and everywhere around me - I ran out in sheer shock, slicing my feet over the broken glass.
I bled heavily until I was able to gather myself enough to call for help and ask for staff to get my partner from the gym!
He administered first aid as hotel staff had no clue.

We requested a full refund and a review of hotel facilities against safety glass standards only to be haggled to 50% off the bill and an empty promise of follow up from the manager who was conveniently absent.

There are obvious flaws and cheaper design and material alternatives used at this property and I’m convinced that this incident will not trigger a review or safety audit.. be careful.

We loved everything about this boutique hotel, gorgeous room and heavenly bedding, free mini bar and afternoon tea between 3-5 pm.

It's located in district 1 and so close to all the sights, all walking distance. We'd even say it was the perfect location, with quiet rooms.

The stars of this hotel were the wonderful receptionists and door staff, we couldn't have felt more welcome and safe. Thank you everyone, we loved it.

The hotel was good, our room was a bit small but it didn't matter on a short visit. We spent 3 nights at the hotel, bed was good, staff was really polite and nice. Coffee at the breakfast was really good and the breakfast was ok, the staff was a bit slow in refilling the service trays when they ran empty.

Overall experience was good and I would visit this hotel again

Great place to stay in HCM! After 2 failed bookings we ended up in Icon Saigon as a back up plan and we ended up staying there for nearly a week. The value you get for the price is the best deal!

The hotel is modern, the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very complete and in a very pleasant room with good views of the city. The rooftop bar is the perfect place to end the day with many available drinks at a fair price. The staff was very nice and available to help us anytime.

We also had plenty of space to work outside the room and the location is perfect, with many restaurants nearby and right by the opera house so we couldn’t ask for anything else.
