It looks like a family hotel. Location - you couldn't imagine the better - just on the busy road with loads of restaurants, shops. Our room was on the 5th or 6th floor so you couldn't hear the noise of the street. On the other hand you can close windows :) The only thing I didn't like was the fact...

Friends and I stayed at The Pheonix 74 Hotel for a total of 1 week over Christmas. The location is great, you can't get more central, 5 mins walk to the market, 15 mins walk from the war museum and smack in the middle of the main backpacker area. However we were dissapointed with the lack of cleanliness in the...

Guy at reception is a legend, he sorted out a dodgy taxi driver who wanted double what the meter said. Also great value for money. Definitely recommend this hotel to people who are travelling on a budget.

Poenix 74 is very well located in the tourist area of the city. Internet did not work in the rooms, but they let me connect from the office near reception. The bathrooms were not very clean and has no restaurant. The rooms were all right with air conditioning. There is much difference between the rooms, I recommend checking a couple...

I am staying here for 3 weeks. The price was about 10 or 11 bucks per night. I like this hotel very much. What do you need from a hotel? For me, it's a shower, A/C, wifi, TV, small bed and a mini fridge. The Phoenix has all this right in the middle of the most vibrant part of the...

I stayed the third time at Phoenix74 last week. Room: cheap prices and everything I need: clean, aircon, window, quiet if window is closed. I had a good sleep always. Service: After nine years from my last stay, the family atmosphere is gone and the service is not that good as it was before. Don't expect too much, but if...

I booked a single room for $10 via Agoda (this experience taught me NOT to book without seeing the hotel first!). The room was okay at first glance. Not so big, but just enough for a single traveler. The ensuite bathroom also looked okay. However, when I went back after lunch the room smelled awful. The smell was coming from...

I had a short trip to HCM City on January 2013 and of course my stay was Phoenix 74 Hotel. The hotel was quite old, some commodities such as TV and cable were broken. But in my opinion, $18 for a triple room in a busy area like Bui Vien Street is such a great surprise. Btw, the staff was...

“Get one that doesn't face Bui Vien, the building is quite skinny (just wait till you see HCMC they are all like this) so only 3 rooms per floor, of which only 1 will face Bui Vien... but this is right where you want to me.”
