The central location of this hotel means it is perfectly placed for easy walking to the main places of interest in central Phnom Penh, and the shady pool offers welcome respite from the heat. Architecturally, the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and our room was very grand with a huge balcony. Reception staff were particularly helpful and solicitous, offering advice...

First, we visited during national elections. Half the staff wasn't there and we didn't get our massage. The property is very lovely, the rooms very comfortable, and the food was pretty good. I loved the lounging area around the pool. The property is very secure and safe. It was a bit of a walk to some of the sites, but...

We stayed at the Pavilion for 4 nights,in a private pool room and have nothing but praise for the whole experience. From being met at the Airport in the Jaguar until leaving we were treated as guests that mattered! The pool room 31 was delightful, though only criticism, being a sun worshipper it got absolutely no sun at any time of the...

We stayed in The Pavilion for three nights. It's hard to believe you're situated so central in a busy city when you're at The Pavilion; passing through the entrance leads to another world than outside. It's so quiet, so relaxing, and you can feel the hospitality. The building has a soul not to be found in modern and larger hotels,...

Totally love the hotel...It gave us the very relaxing feeling once we step inside. Complimentary welcome drink was fresh passion fruit juice, which refreshes us from the flight. And we've got a complimentary 25 mins back massage at their spa facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful with filled us with maps and information we need. And even helped...

It is hard to believe once you step behind the high walls of the Pavilion Hotel, that you are in the noisy, bustling city of Phnom Penh. The garden and pool offer some much needed respite. Scattered amongst the palm trees are day beds where you can lie back and relax. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent....

This is a lovely oasis of a hotel. The service was great throughout. The pool area is beautiful, lovely pool and very welcoming at the end of a days sightseeing. Few beds around the pool so if its busy you could struggle to find somewhere to relax. The rooms are all quite different. We had 3 different rooms, a deluxe...

This was our second time at this charming place ... our personal oasis in hot and sizzling Phnom Penh. Coming back to The Pavilion after 1,5 years felt really like coming home. It's maybe not the most luxurious place on earth, but it has something far more important; atmosphere and a heart and soul. We traveled a lot and seen...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It all started when we fell in love with a hidden gem of French-Khmer architecture from the 1920s near Wat Botum, one of the most venerable and original pagodas in Phnom Penh. Renovation and remodeling were led with due respect for the character of a building which had been, as we learnt it later on, a private retreat for Queen Consort Sisowath Kossamak, the late King Sihanouk's mother. Opened on August, 18, 2006 with 10 rooms, The Pavilion has slowly expanded over the years, offering now 36 accommodations throughout three more period buildings that have been added to the property: "The New House", former residence of the chief veterinarian at the Royal Palace; "The New Villa", formerly the private residence of a Cambodian senator, and "The Sun-Pool Villa", our latest addition which used to be lodgings for diplomats based in Phnom Penh. Each one has its own style and atmosphere, with distinctive architectural features such as an elaborate wooden stairway, intricate iron wrought railings, etc… ... more   less
