We paid just $15 a night to stay here and we booked for 2 nights.
Positives
Room was lovely, modern and spacious. Came with fridge, kettle with tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer and also toothbrush, toothpaste and soap!
Shower was lovely and it was hot! (You really appreciate this when backpacking!)

Negatives
Tuk tuk drivers seemed to have no idea where this hotel was, one even kicked us off his tuk tuk he got so fed up of trying to find it!
We paid for laundry, they said it would be done by 6.30pm that day, we went back at 7.30pm they said to come back tomorrow it was very wet, we said we couldn't come back as we were checking out early at 7am as we had a bus booked to move on. In the end we collected our laundry ourselves at 11pm and used the hair dryer to dry off the damp clothes. Also our bathroom door handle broke and we were locked out of it and so after that we were wary of shutting the door properly incase we got locked inside! On checkout they also tried to over charge us by $10 but luckily I still had our confirmation email with the $30 on so we didn't have to pay extra in the end but there was no apology for this.

Don't expect 5 star service on a 2 star budget but I don't expect to try and be ripped off and over charged for my booking! Would have given this a 2 star rating but for is it was a luxury to have the amenities in the room and hot water which is why we have given this 3.

We stayed one night here. After the lovely places we have had for similar money in Cambodia and Vietnam unsure if we have been spoiled or just lucky or what but this place was a bit of a let down.

Really just for the lack of a window and the location is hopeless, but I could have researched that better to be fair.

On the positive side great in room wifi, hot shower, comfy bed.

If you're passing through give it a shot if you are here for a few days I'd suggest look closer to the action areas

These rooms are clean & modern, with good air con, free wifi in rooms, & great shower. Helpful & friendly staff speak good English. Quiet location, not too far from the action, & tuktuks are cheap to anything further away. One tip: don't close the bathroom door at night - they can self lock, but staff were happy to help out in the middle of the night. Great value!

Loved it here! Tuk tuk service whenever needed! Helpful lovely doorman there with umbrella when it rains! The front desk speak great English and make sure you get a good deal on all rides!
Room is clean and comfy and really good for the price! Best bed I have slept in and with scapular winging I normally wake up Witt dead arms but here was the best sleep!
Shower is hot!- which isn't always the case travelling Asia!

Air con also there!

Great place on a budget away from the drunken brothels!

We are traveling 2 months now, we stayed at the cheapest and most dirty hostels in China, Vietnam and Cambodia, and this is by far the worst experience we had yet- and this one is a HOTEL and not a hostel.
We booked it because all the backpacker hostels were full due to Christmas.
1. The hotel is very far from riverside and all the central attractions. It is quiet, but the street (288) is scary at night and has a horrible smell.
2. Staff speaks NO English as we would have expected from a HOTEL.
3. When we asked for a map of the area or even just a business card of the hotel to show tuk-tuk drivers, they didn't have anything and couldn't answer any questions. No help was provided regarding tourist things.
4. On the first day (after having enough experience in Asia) we asked them to clean the room and give us more toilet paper - didn't happen all three nights we stayed.
And the finale...
At 5pm we arrived back to the hotel after a long day at the police station because one of our phones was stolen (and they didn't understand enough English to help us find the police). A guy from the staff stood outside and told us we can't go into the hotel for the next 2 hours because they sprayed anti- mosquito chemicals. We were in a major rush to shower and leave for a religious dinner we planned and couldn't go into the room. After a few minutes we realized that all of our clothes were on the floor and asked them if the sprayed inside the room, and they did. We told them that it is completely dangerous to be exposed to these chemicals and that we can't wear all of our clothes now! The answer that we got was "sorry". We yelled a little and they agreed to wash all of our clothes for free. In addition, they didn't even think about changing our sheets and towels which were full of the chemicals. Someone who is the sales and marketing manger said that our clothes will be ready when we come back from dinner. We needed everything to be ready asap because of a scheduled bus we had the morning afterwords and had to pack. As we should have guessed before, we came back from dinner at 9pm and found out that our clothes were hung in the laundry room and completely wet. We couldn't pack and didn't even have pj's for the night because of them. From that point it was a never ending story, they promised to find a drying machine or a solution, at 1am they let us know that they didn't find a solution. At 5AM they woke us up and gave us our half dry half wet clothes. We knew we have to get some sleep before the bus at 9am. We woke up and packed, thinking that our nightmare is over... We checked out and asked where is our bus (we booked a bus from the hotel to Sihanoukville) and the 2 guys in the reception had no clue what we were talking about. After some more yelling they said they forgot to book the bus for us (even though we already paid them). We just asked for our bus money back and left the hotel with no bus and lots of luggage. The end!

We chose this hotel because it was almost brand new, but it wasn't an good experience.

The safety box and toilet didn't work (it leaked water on the floor) in the first room. Then we were assigned a new room, but it hadn't been cleaned at all (there were still trash, dirty bedding and floor was dirty). The toilet couldn't flush either. The final room we got was bigger, but the safety box and the toilet didn't work here as well. But since it only was for two nights, we accepted it. So we had to borrow a plunger (see the picture) from the staff and use it every time we'd used the toilet. It was so disgusting. There wasn't any toiletpaper in any of the rooms.

The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere. There's a few local eateries on the street, but everything else is miles away. All the fun stuff is located at 172 street or lower.

The only good thing I have to say about the hotel is the internet and the female staff that checked us in when we came.

If you stay here, even though I wouldn't recommend it - don't use the hotels tuk tuk. I was in a hurry when I left, so instead of walking a bit away from the hotel and take an independent tuk tuk, I used the hotels. He charged me double the amount I paid for the exact same trip I took the day before. And yeah, get used to the plunger. It's going to be your best friend during your stay.

It was so clean and secure place you can find in Phnom Penh. hotel staff are so kind, and helpful. They gave very good suggestions for sightseeing around the town which I haven't discovered before. when you come in Cambodia, this hotel can be first option for your accommodation.

Positives:
Mmm its not all bad. What can I say I guess the room is a good size, the aircon is good, and the bed linen seemed clean.

There are no windows but they have painted a nice grey square on the wall.... Is this a pretend window perhaps or to cover up bloodstains from a crime scene? I guess we shall never know.

Negatives:
Location - where the f is this place? Not where you want to be thats for sure. Wandered the streets in search of an ATM the first 3 didnt work and not a nice area, it feels pretty unsafe after dark.
Not sure when the bathroom was last cleaned but there are various spots and streaks (possibly bodily fluids) visible on the shower wall plus a pubic? hair, and an old bar of soap from a previous guest...
The shower head is great and there is hot water... But dont expect it to stay in the shower with you, major drainage problems so dont have the pressure up high or stay in for long unless you want the whole bathroom flooded.
The toilet seat does not fit the toilet its far too small therefore it sprays you through the gap when you flush it-stand back!

Really confused by the reviews on here saying how modern and clean this place is. Sure it has a fridge and a hot drinks station but dont most hotels? Those are not bathrobes they have put out I know hospital gowns when I see them.

Dont stay here. I have stayed in lots of cheap hotels in SE Asia before and you can do much better than this.

A friend recommended me this place as he spent couple of days at this hotel & couldn't stop boasting about their service and friendliest staff. I contacted them while planning my trip & was shocked with the way they spent so much time giving me various alternate plans based on my budget. The staff has been coordinating with me since a week and helping me out with all the information I need for this trip. Couldn't stop myself from writing a review as this is the first time I have experienced such a great service even before visiting this place. Will share pictures soon from my trip :)

Hi, both the Russian market and the shopping mall is about 10 minutes drive away from St 288 Hotel & Serviced Apartments by tuk tuk. The staff at the hotel are quite helpful, and you can easily find tuk tuks. If you want, I am sure the people in the reception can help you. I'm afraid I don't know anything myself about Muslim food eateries, but I have seen recomendations from others going like this: "- KFC.. in Cambodia are Halal and also cheap.. - Street 173 Sangkat Toul Svey Pray. Leston Paris Restaurant.. Infront of Masjid Jame' Saad bin Abi Wakkas - Street 114 Sangkat Phsar Thmei. Mamak Corner.. Owner is a mamak from Ampang.. - Monivong Boulevard. D' Nyonya Penang.. On ground floor of Hotel Grand Plaza.. Price a bit expensive - Monivong Boulevard. D'Wau Restaurant.. On ground floor of New York Hotel.. Same with above - Street 86 Bung Kork. Tasnim Restaurant.. Its near to Dubai Mosque..also this street got a few other Muslim Halal Restaurant - Street 118 Sangkat Phsar Thmei. Cafe Malaya.. Owner is from Perlis.. Buffet Style Malaysian food.. USD4 for buffet price - Street 130 Sisowath Quay. Halal Restaurant.. Malay Cham people.. got another Halal shop in front of the restaurant.. - Street 99 Norodom Boulevard. Sarpino's Pizzeria .. The only halal pizza in Cambodia.. its also near to KFC." I hope this information is useful to you. Enjoy your stay in Phnom Penh! Best regards, Mia.
