This was my 3rd trip to Phnom Penh and I only wish I would have found this hotel on my first trip. You can walk to most major attractions night market, central market, bus to siem reap etc. The place has become a hang out for expats and they are not a bunch of old drunks. Many are well educated, I found...

We loved Phnom Penh and this place was the perfect hotel from which to start exploring. The rooms are very clean, the shower is hot and strong and the bar is a nice place to hang out and have a few drinks before or after coming back from a day or night out. The hotel is within walking distance to...

I stayed one night and found the rooms to be modern, clean (strangly they had mirrors on all the walls). The owner and staff were very friendly and I felt at home straight away, even though I had messed up by booking and arrived on the wrong day. The hotel is right my the waterfront and so the location is...

I was originally booked in to a hotel that was dead at the far side of town and was almost ready to write off Phnom Pen, again. I stumbled across the Cal 2 site when thinking about booking a move out of town to Kep or further south. I dropped Jim (the owner) a mail looking for a room and...

If your staying on the river front, then Cal 2 is a perfect location. Close to the night market, and river front resturantsand bars. The Cal 2 bar has live sports events and the staff are friendly, and the rooms are very clean.

Clean room, good western and Cambodian food, 24-hour bar/restaurant playing excellent classic rock, free wifi throughout the hotel, in-room lockbox, friendly staff. These guys really nailed it. California 2 is an especially great place for solo travelers because it is so easy to meet people - other guests, expats living in town, and local residents who pop by regularly for...

I stayed in a "Deluxe Room" . This had a desk to set up laptop, cable TV (only CNN & BBC for news), mini bar/fridge and just enough room you needed to be comfortable, the only down side of the room was no window. There was also a balcony with tables to sit out and watch the traffic on the...

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in Feb and again for 1 night in March after visiting Siem Reap inbetween. It was very friendly, clean and although the breakfast was limited it was very good value for $27.50 for a standard room. The bar has a good atmosphere and the pool table is a great...

I stayed here for 3 days in April on my way to Siem Reap. I was nervous about being a woman staying alone in Pnom Penh but I felt right at home here. It isn't glamorous, but people are nice, it is safe and well run and there are a host of interesting people hanging out here on any given...

We are always trying to make it work for the guest. The bar and restaurant has become more popular and as a result there has been some noise issues for some of our guest sleeping upstairs. After futile attempts to sound proof the hallways we have since (December 2010) installed a door separating the lobby from the upstairs and glassed...

Room 6 had a window! Great bed! Flat screen TV, and nice bathroom facilities! I loved the staff! Great resident tuk tuk driver. A bunch of the bar girls (staff) took me on an hour river trip! Thanks Any! I loved my stay at the California 2. Hands down. The best river front hotel in Phnom Penh! Oh yea, free...
