3 friends/ 27 years old/ Australian – Hope that gives you a better perspective on the review. Stayed in April this year Great location. Vientiane is small. Easy and safe to walk around. Tuk tuks are dirt cheap too. Wonderful place to stay. The rooms were simple, but beautifully furnished. Wooden floor boards, balcony and big comfortable wooden bed. We...

This was the best hotel we stayed in on our 4 week trip, the rooms are modern comfortable and spotless and the bathroom gets 10 out of 10 with a western design i.e. the shower seperated from the toilet with a wall so that the whole floor does not get wet and great water pressure! The lobby is done out...

We stayed in this guest house 3 times. It has beautiful rooms and is situated in a quiet part of Vientiane near the center. We loved the delicious continental breakfast with the best croissants in Laos, yoghurt with honey and a plate of fresh fruit. The staff was friendly. We couldn't have wished for a better guest house and all...

We stayed in Room 1 for four nights in April 2011. We liked the location, which although on a fairly large road we found quiet, despite what others have said. But Vientiane is a very quiet capital city! The room itself was huge, and fitted out very nicely in dark woods and Laotian textiles, with a huge bed. The hotel...

We stayed 9 nights at Hotel Khamvongsa and loved it. The rooms were spacious, with light walls and dark hardwood floors and furnishings. The bathroom had fantastic water pressure. Amazing included breakfast and super nice staff made it a complete experience. We rely on WiFi during our travels and they had the best connection in town, although it had its...

We stayed in the top suite with the mezzanine and the room was nice and spacious. Location was within walking distance of Vientiane city centre. Not fussed on the city personally, especially after staying in Luang Prabang. We only stayed overnight but found a lovely french restaurant just round the corner from the hotel and would recommend that too. If...

The location is very central, right near Wat Inpeng and one block from the river.just outside of main backpacker area which made it a little bit quieter, which was nice. The room was large and beautifully furnished, it even had a separate kitchenette with a microwave, sink and fridge. The tariff of $30 a night included a choice of breakfast and...

We loved our 2 nights. They picked us up from the airport and provided a map of the city. It was always a peaceful place to rest after a busy day and the breakfasts were fantastic! The location was a short (very short) walk from the riverfront, but if you are in no hurry it is walking distance to nearly...

Stayed here for two nights in late April 2011 with my husband and two Vietnamese friends, encouraged by the excellent reviews. Since Vientiane is not a large city, most reasonable hotels are in good, walking distance locations. The Khamvongsa is no exception, and there are several good restaurants close by (including a Lonely Planet Top Pick across the street), as...
