Got a crazy low AAA rate through a mistake in their system, but they honored it. The staff are very nice, the hotel is new and pretty quiet. They gave us top floor and treated us really well even though I have no hotel status with Holiday Inn. It´s near a big mall and taxis are easy to get to the center. We found a taxi driver early on we liked and he communicated with us using a translator and he drove us to the Khan horse statue and back for 100,000 mnt, or $28 USD. We gave him the same plus a nice tip to take us to airport. The traffic and pollution in UB are rough. It´s not a high quality of life I wouldn´t want to live there, but was fine to visit. The breakfast is just so so. Not a huge offering. Very clean and really helpful staff.

Hotel's Favourite
Stayed here 3-nights visiting Ulaanbataar. Comfortable stay with the usual Holiday Inn familiar feel. Big comfortable room, good size bathroom, friendly staff. Breakfast sees the same spread daily. Seating is limited and not well spaced out thus guests have to share tables. Like the other hotel we stayed HI also has issue with hot water supply when bathing. 20th floor hotel lounge was closed for renovation when we went there. Hotel should have signs at the lobby to inform guests instead of us getting to the 19th floor meeting rooms level and looking around how to get to the lounge, which still had a lighted sign as though its open for business.

Hope that this hotel will take these comments as a positive criticism. We booked our room through booking.com for a single room with two beds. However, we were given a single room with queen sized bed. The reason given was due to the system error. Nothing could be done by hotel other than offering to us to shift to another room tomorrow. We asked for an extra blanket and its cover. And they provided us a bed sheet. BTW, we received the blanket with a few strands of hair. Hope this hotel can improve next time. Thank you.

My stay at the Holiday Inn Ulaanbaatar was a mixed experience, hence my three-star rating. There were aspects of my stay that were commendable, while others left a lot to be desired. Let’s start with the positives: the rooms were excellent - comfortable, clean, and well-appointed. Additionally, the hotel staff were generally amiable and courteous. These factors helped to create a pleasant atmosphere during our stay. However, there were some aspects of our stay that fell short of expectations. The check-in process was particularly problematic. Despite having booked a rate that included breakfast, we were initially told that this was not the case. We had to go to the extent of providing screenshot proof of our booking details to rectify the issue - a situation that was far from ideal and somewhat tarnished the initial impression of our stay. Furthermore, the laundry service was exorbitantly priced, and the hotel’s unwillingness to find a solution to this issue was disappointing. The pricing policy was based per item and not per kilogram, which resulted in a prohibitively high cost. This was particularly inconvenient for a long-term stay. In conclusion, while the Holiday Inn Ulaanbaatar offers comfortable accommodations and generally friendly service, the issues encountered during check-in and with the laundry service were significant drawbacks. These areas of improvement could significantly enhance the guest experience. As such, my overall rating is three stars.

Hi maximilian1988, The Holiday Inn Ulaanbaatar, thank you for your feedback and stay. Our hotel strives to achieve high-quality standards in an environment of simplicity and luxury. I saw your review and am sorry that your stay lacked the service you expect from us. I did not want our guests to experience this type of service, and thank you for allowing us to look into these matters. I forwarded your comments to our local area managers. Our staff evaluated them and created a plan to better our services and offers to avoid this from happening again. I hope you allow us to be part of your next trip. Regards, Oscar C. Really comfortable hotel in central UB, with super friendly and helpful staff. Helped really well getting a taxi at 4 am for our early flight and storing out luggage for several days when we were touring Mongolia. Recognized well as an IHG Diamond Ambassador with a nice upgrade to a Twin Garden Room (initially a suite but didn't need that as we preferred twin beds), offered choice of amenities between points, free breakfast or drink voucher which was nice. Air Conditioning worked super well in the room and the beds were large and comfortable. Had 5x separate nights in this hotel this month and all were really good.

We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay at the Holiday Inn UB during our visit to Mongolia in early June. Many thanks to the Front Desk Manager at the hotel who gave us a warm welcome and ensured we had a smooth check-in when we arrived. They gave us an excellent room on the 9th floor with great views of the city. The room was very clean and looked newly furnished. The wifi and water pressure worked very well, and the beds were very comfortable, especially after our long flight to UB. The hotel is centrally located near to the Gandeng Monastery area, and it's an easy 15 minute walk to nearby attractions like the State Dept Store and Shangri-la Mall. It was convenient to get food and necessities nearby from the 24hr convenience stores and many dining options nearby. There is also a very nice restaurant on the 2nd floor of the hotel, which serves very nice Mongolian and international dishes at an affordable price. The breakfast buffet is also held at the 2nd floor restaurant; with good choice of food and beverage. We (somewhat regrettably) checked out after 2 nights stay, to travel to the countryside, and left our luggage at the Front Desk/Concierge for safekeeping, which they did admirably. Thank you again Holiday Day Inn UB for the lovely stay and would love to return there on our next visit to UB.

I am currently staying at this hotel and on check in I was told that my IHG membership cannot be accepted, since this is booked from a different portal, really ? Secondly i callled laundry service @1755 hrs and the refused laundry service. Not even a few hours and I regret checking into this IHG property. The hotel doesn’t provide a Iron and ironing board and keeps mentioning of checking the wardrobe. And last but not the least, the hotel doesn’t have a fan and cannot even fathom, I lived at the best western and kempenski and both had good service. Utterly disappointed #IHG

Well, I have been staying here for over a week. Now, I am sure that you better not expect friendly greetings by the receptionists. As Well, if you intend to stay here over a week, mind that the bed sheets will be changed once in a week. Plus, it seemed Japanese friendly, solely. The chiefs greet more often than the receptions. What I thought is that Toyoko Inn Ulaanbaatar Administrators better learn from Ramada Chain Hotel which is right beside the road next to this premise. This hotel is just cheaper and less serviced than the Ramada Ulaanbaatar City Center. Anyway, Ramada is still my #1 choise in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

I stayed here one night upon arrival and rebooked my second night into another hotel after that. After staying with nomads in yurts, I needed a better and more cosy hotel when i returned to UB.The hotel is ok, and the staff try to do their best, but English knowledge is rather poor and they were difficult to understand. Nor did I get recognised as a rewards member. It was a bit cheaper than I expected so I guess you get what you pay for. Sleep was good, rooms well soundproofed. Traffic in UB is horrendous, so if not havng business in town it is better to stay outside of the city centre. The restaurant was ok, but the staff's comprehension of English was very poor. The coffee shop in the lobby was unmanned when I needed a coffee and I gave up after ten minutes.
