We stayed here 4 nights . Check in /check out was very smooth . The front desk staff is very customer service oriented and help the hotel guests with tours/local suggestions. The housekeeping staff is also friendly and keep the room tidy. I gave the hotel 4 stars for good customer service. Otherwise , the hotel needs a cosmetic lift . The bed is not very comfy at night and the walls are not well insulated between the rooms . Lot of noise from other rooms. The bathroom shower was good but toilet was dated . Breakfast was nothing to write home about. The hotel is conveniently located on Peace Avenue and walkable to Gandantehchinlen monastery plus has direct access to the adjacent mall too . The airport transfer was very good. The rooms had a nice view of the city and hills . Would recommend it only if prices are reasonably lower than other hotels .

A thirty-minute walk from Sukhbaatar Square which suited me fine as it allowed me to have a reasonable amount of exercise going back and forth to the centre of UB. It is very close to Gandan Khiid and its adjacent monasteries [Badma Ega Datsan and Bakula Rinpoche Sum] and you can then walk to the centre of UB, visiting the Zanabazar Museum of Fine Arts en route. The 17th floor lounge, the Edge had a great ambience and superb views over the city and its surround and served great cocktails to boot until 1am. I would definitely stay there again.

No doubt that the Ramada UB City Center is one of the best hotels in the city. What I loved the most about this hotel is that it is connected to a large mall with many stores and food outlets - so convenient for shopping and eating.
Hansang Restaurant and Cafe Restime are also a part of the hotel building, and both were great! The rooms are super comfortable (the one I had featured an amazing panoramic view of UB city - breathtaking), and the shower is huge!!
Finally, the staff were super helpful in assisting me with organising airport transfers and car rental for the day, where I got to see the beautiful Terelj National Park. Overall, I had a memorable stay here- would definitely recommend!

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, checking in late on the first night and leaving very early in the morning off the second night. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable with decent wifi. The staff were excellent - helpful and thoughtful. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. If i am lucky enough to get back to Ulaanbaatar I will stay there again. There was one person in particular - the lady that worked the front desk on the night of Mar 7th into early morning Mar 8th (I didn't get her name unfortunately) - that stood out. She was an outstanding member of your staff and a wonderful ambassador for Ramada Hotels. Keep up the great work!

I actually had high expectations that you know this hotel is world widely known. Right after I checked in my room, bathroom was not clean and room was dusty that I could not stop sneezing. Surprisingly wifi was very low. Staff were slow to take actions.

Located in the Max Mall, Ramada is a descent hotel, for a couple of nights stay. The staff are courteous, the rooms are clean. However, the breakfast is not quite attractive to look forward to.
Can recommend for descent budget travelers.

We had a reservation made on our behalf and came to Ramada CityCenter Ulaan Baator on August 3. What we did not know is that the hotel was not functioning yet. (There was no coffee available in the lobby bar, there was no restaurant in the hotel that was open, floors were still being painted and renovated, there was no place to eat breakfast in the morning, etc.) Nevertheless the next morning when we wanted to check out and pay for our two hotel rooms the bill had an extra charge for four breakfasts even though breakfast was clearly included in the room rate for the four persons staying in two rooms. (Additionally, the dining room was not open, we had to walk through a construction site from the kitchen to a small enclosed room off the as yet unopened mall, and our breakfasts were carried through this construction zone to the small room where guests were asked to have breakfast. We would never have eaten breakfast at all if it were not included in the room rate, and indeed did not eat what was put on our plates. The breakfast under these conditions was extremely unpleasant and loud given the buzz saws and hammering and dust all around us.) So, we were asked to pay for a breakfast we didn't really want to eat and while discussing this became dangerously late for our flight. The desk manager guaranteed that if we came back the next week as planned the hotel would be finished, all the glitches would be resolved, and that we would be extremely happy customers with the services provided. We made a reservation again for the same two connecting rooms one week hence.
When we arrived one week later we were told that there was no reservation for us. When we insisted there was, the reservation was found but we were told that there were no two connecting rooms available. Since we were traveling with children this was an impossibility for us. Connecting rooms were then found on a floor that was still under construction (although we were not told that). The noise was incessant. The smell of paint overwhelming. And the air conditioning not functioning. Upon arriving in the room we called the desk to say there was no ventilation in either room. We asked for two other rooms. Now we waited for the ventilation in the rooms we were stuck with to be fixed. This took several hours and we were forced to wait without being able to take showers after one week on the road, in the airless rooms, until the technicians could figure out why there was no ventilation available in the middle of summer in Ulaan Baator. This lost us several hours and forced us to take dinner in the hotel (which was another disaster).
The next morning we needed to use the business center partially for urgent emails related to my medical practice as a doctor. We were not able to use the business center since it had been rented out completely. So it took us a whole morning until finally we were lent a computer, that crashed several times, for use in the lobby. Then when we wanted to print the documents that was another long story. Then when we asked for two envelopes, the hotel bizarrely did not have any envelopes that were not pre-addressed TO the hotel. So there was not one envelope for use in this supposedly four star hotel.
In summary, I think everyone understands how sub standard it was compared to any 3 star experience in Europe or North America, and certainly any hotel with the Ramada name on it.
When we finally came to settle the bill and leave for the airport our second + final time, the desk manager felt uncomfortable and didn't know how to settle the bill. So finally he offered us a free stay for the first night, and a lousy reduction on the second night. So it is now unbelievable that after offering us the free stay, that now after three weeks the Ramada Hotel wants to charge us ! (and even worse not even contacting us directly, but harrassing the poor people who made the reservation to pay a bill they have nothing to do with)!!
A recent glace at TripAdvisor has shown many people think the hotel to be unfinished, and the top management to be quite amateurish and under par.

Responded 1 Sept 2011
Dear Guest, I fully understand how you have felt deprived of this unpleasant situaton. It seems that we did not meet your expectation about value, rooms and sleep quality during your previous stay. please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. I am really sorry for the room price you paid and thought expensive. Our room price is changing with booking demand and if it is reserved in the last minute, its price more expensive than earlier bookings. So I would like to advise you to book sufficiently in advance, if you trip schedule is fixed accordingly. And we will also try to offer the best price always compared to our competitors. Concerning your requested room type, if you mentioned your preferred room is connecting-room, our receptionist should remark in your guest profile to assign the proper room in the future. As many guests request connect room, it is not able to offer properly requested room type for the guest who doesn't mention it upon booking. Please kindly understand about this situation for your last stay. We will also to train our receptionists to be flexible for the guest's satisfaction in any request. Concerning the issue about the air-conditioning system , we also would like to tell that appropriate action has been taken with our housekeeping supervisor, to ensure this unpleasant incident does not happen again. Also necessary training and daily inspection will be reinforced at all times accordingly. I will share your comments with our team. I am sure that this feedback will serve as an encouragement to all of our staff as we strive to continuously improve the quality of our services. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope your next visit will be as pleasant as the previous one. Sincerely Yours, Danny Hong Front Manager Ramada Ulaanbaatar Citycenter

My husband and I stayed at the Ramada for 2 nights in March. The purpose of our trip was recreational. We arranged for the Ramada car to pick us up at the bus station. The driver was at the station waiting for us when we arrived.
Upon arriving at the hotel, the front desk clerk spoke English and quickly checked us in. She even gave us an upgrade and honored our request to be placed away from the elevator.
The room itself was clean and quiet. We rested well for both nights. You can definitely hear the street noise form the room (13th floor), but it is just regular city noise. If you are sensitive to the white noise of traffic, you may want to bring ear plugs. This probably goes for anywhere in the city.
We ate at the restaurant both nights for dinner. Food was okay. Not the culinary highlight of our holiday, but certainly fine. It reminded me of massed produced banquet food. Lots of choices from all over the world.
The breakfast was also fine. Breads, fruits, vegetables, salad, a variety of hot dishes including noodles, baked beans, bacon. There were also cereals and juices. There was more than what I listed but you get the gist.
If you are looking for a reliable stay in Ulaanbaatar, the Ramada would be a good choice.
