Detailed Reviews
We were pleased with the standard of this 3 star hotel. The hotel is located in the city centre in a walkable distance to Uan Bator´s main square. The rooms are big and quiet, there is a breakfast buffet and the service is friendly. We arrived in the early morning and we got a room for having a shower until our booked rooms were ready. We would stay again at this place.

I stayed for 5 nights at the Kaiser hotel after reading good reviews and considering location and rates.
Overall the hotel is centrally located, I love walking so walked around town from the hotel without a problem and felt safe. The hotel is not in Peace Avenue but a block away from it.
Staff try to be friendly but english or any other language apart from mongol is very limited or nil.
I arranged an airport transfer as I arrived late at midnight and the guy was there waiting for me as agreed for USD20
Breakfast is adequate but exactly the same everyday, gets boring after 2 nights. Bring hour own cheese! There is none!
My only concern is that during my stay the hotel was being renovated and there was so much dust everywhere and very noisy during the day so the rooms were not really clean and to be honest never hoovered.
My room was very spacious 402 and bed was really comfortable, shower was perfect too.
I do recommend this hotel as UB is relatively small, hotel offer is limited and expensive so the hotel offers very good value for money.

The Kaiser Hotel is a good, if not spectacular hotel in the center of UB. Very close to Sukhbaatar Square and Peace Avenue (5-10 minute walk) which is ideal, as some hotels in UB can be VERY far from any amenities.
The rooms were big and comfortable, the complimentary slippers are a nice and very useful touch as well. There is good TV in the rooms with lots of Western programming if you're looking for something familiar. We stayed in three different rooms (a standard twin, a deluxe double, and a standard double) so we can vouch for the quality of all of their bed types as well as the wifi reception in each. The bathrooms and showers were also very clean. Each of our stays were only a night each so can't comment on whether your room will be cleaned every day.
Breakfast is thrown into the deal, nothing fancy but nice to be able to eat at the hotel and then get on with your day (this especially handy if you're flying out as there is nothing decent at the airport).
Due to high demand and low supply, hotel is UB are generally overpriced, but we thought that we got what we paid for at Kaiser.
They offer a taxi service to the airport for $20 which is also very useful as the cab companies aren't afraid to take a chance and charge you a fortune.
Only negative was the last room we stayed in (room 403). I think they have done a big refurbishment recently (as the fittings in the other rooms were all shiny and new) but 403 was obviously still a work in progress. If you are booking a standard double room, make sure they don't put you in this one.

I am on a trip around the world. I am traveling the London to Singapore segment by train. I booked every hotel in every city based upon Trip Advisor. I usually chose highly rated budget hotels in each city.
Hotel Kaiser is the 10th stop of my journey. The location is very good, a few blocks from the centre of downtown. The room had 2 beds, a flat screen tv, and in the bathroom the most amazing toilet with a heated and lighted seat and a shower. The buffet breakfast includes eggs, oatmeal, deli meats, bread, cheese, cookies, cereals coffee, tea, and juice.
I rode my folding bike about 30 km during the two days I stayed at here. There is a beautiful natural park and a river with very clean water about 2 km south of town
Previous reviewed Hotel – Olga’s Baikal Guest House, in Irkutsk, Siberia, Next Hotel – 161 Hotel Lishi Hutong, Beijing China

We booked 4 nights in total, before and after our Mongolia tour. The hotel was recommended online as a place frequented by business travellers in Mongolia. At 77€/night for a double bed standard room we expected an upscale hotel ideal to prep for our tour and relax after. The location is good near the center at walking distance from Chinggis Khan square. The first room was spacious, the second was a whole lot smaller.. For the same price. On both occasions the rooms were smelly and did not offer airco. Looks like carper needs some proper cleaning. The breakfast was ok but nothing special there. The TV had some English channels. What definitely annoyed me was the fact that the personnel, both before and upon our return didn't speak English. It was painstakingly difficult to even try to arrange a simpel taxi ride, let alone try something a bit more complicated. If you promote yourself as a business hotel at least make sure your personnel has some mediocre language skills.

Location is quite near the main square but up a lane way and hard to find
The local taxi drivers had trouble finding it
Quick check in
Nice and warm which was great as I was there in -30 weather
Room was nice
Good bed
Great free fast wifi
Safe in the room
Plenty hot water
Flatscreen tv which was fiddly to change channels
Some English channels alright
However the place was totally dead
I never saw another guest in three days
The breakfast wasn't great and identical every day
Basically fried eggs fried rice and cold potatoes
Juices plus toast etc
The front staff were no use in getting anything you need
No other facilities or services of any kind in the hotel
They take visa
Not recommended
I suggest you stay in the nearby springs hotel or the peace bridge hotel if a solo traveler

The Kaiser Hotel's interior is fairly new, but the service you receive is really not worth the money. The pipes spread bad odour in the bathrooms, if you don't leave the fan on, toilet paper was either not refilled and upon asking we were given half-used up rolls, but these are things that can be glossed over. What really disappointed us was the drop-off service to the airport. We had ordered a car and paid 20 $ which is high for UB standards i.e. more than a taxi would cost. They have both a van and a normal-sized car. However, on the day we booked the van's license plate wasn't allowed to be used, however the hotel's staff had known this since these are specified days. The four guests had to take their luggage on their laps and lift their feet in order to fit into the car. There was no refund. Considering 110$ a night this is poor service.

But Kaiser is only a couple of blocks further from Peace Avenue and Sukabatar Square; older hotel with VERY comfortable beds in spacious rooms allowing you to spread out; delicious breakfast buffet. Ideal for walkers. Very helpful staff and willing to try. Spent 2 nights when we arrived for 2-week trip in Mongolia. Glad we did. The maps at the front desk are AWESOME !Would stay again and save $... They provide $20 pickup from airport. In hindsight no tip to driver was needed...

The hotel was okay but too many things went wrong while we stayed there; the staff was really unhelpfull and almost rude when we arrived, they didn't speak any english and they charged one cancelled night from me and I had very unprofessional email conversation with them before they returned the money.
Location is good, breakfast okay, rooms and beds are big.

I had one against payment. Worked fine.
Write to the hotel directly and follow up with a call if you want to be doubly sure (skype)
Sorry, I was picked up by the convention I was coming to attend, can't help you, BUT the folks at the hotel are very helpful.
