Detailed Reviews
Despite the excellent location with walking distance to most major business towers, the hotel itself is urgently in need of more care. The staff, while friendly and obliging, they are just not trained well and often do not know what they are doing. Rooms are old, and bathrooms have water problems. Hot water wasn’t always available (on 2-3 days). Room service food menu is extremely limited. Despite what other reviews said about breakfast, I found it ok - usually business hotel breakfast, nothing more nothing less. But the tablecloths are dirty, and cutlery not properly cleaned and replaced. The Korean restaurant in the hotel is good. Room cleaning was v good on some days, and on some days it wasn’t great (for eg waste bins left unemptied). Overall, definitely not 5-stars and definitely not worth the price. But then again, UB hotels are pricey, for the offering. Blue Sky has great potential if only they do some upgrades.

I stayed for 3 days recentlly. The room was nicely appointed, with nice location, views, and restaurants. However, there were three issues. 1) There was loud music outside (from an outdoor music venue and advertisements) until early morning hours that kept us awake. This was a major problem, and I would not stay there unless assured the problem was solved. 2) there was no heat, and nights were cold (on the last night we were able to request a portable heater). 3) the blinds on the window between the shower glass and the room did not work well.

spent a night in this hotel. the room was nice and i had paid extra for a corner one with a good view which it did have. other than that the lobby area wasn't that nice, it is more like a sopping plaza or office building lobby than a luxury hotel. the room was dark and breakfast was not that great

I am a tenant in the Tower section of this establishment. The building management has decided to cut heating in snowy weather and when inquired they gave financial inability to pay for central heating as the reason for freezing its tenants.
Every day around 10 am, dust particles invade our offices through the ventilation system. They are apparently 'fixing' the swimming pool without isolating it. I can't imagine how horrible the rooms in the hotel section are, must be unbearable.

I had a great time staying at this hotel, it was super clean, very easy to check into. The cafe downstairs is great, the restaurants not so great, but the hotel itself was amazing! Service was on top! Staff was very nice, laundry service was great, the gym was good for a holiday workout. Nightlife is nearby right on Seoul Street for bars and clubs. Normal tourism you are right in the Heart of the City in one of the most iconic buildings in the skyline, the room was comfy, the bed was clean shower was very hot and perfect. I would definitely stay here again! This is a trip my husband and I take with other like hearted friends. This is our third trip of this kind to Mongolia. Staying at this hotel was a new choice. And it was not a good choice. The entire hotel is heated which is ok if you enjoy the heat BUT not if you don’t like your room to be 94 degrees even with the small window open AND a fan going AND the door open!! And this at 9:00pm!! Why can’t foreign hotels keep the air conditioning units on and offer their guests the option to turn ON or OFF the air conditioning?!! Foreigners like to sleep in cooler conditions!! It still uses energy to run the heat all the time as it does to run the air conditioning!

I have traveled to many places far and wide, and NEVER expected to have one of the finest hotels I have every stayed in be in Mongolia!
As part of my Mongolian Luxury Tours, I had THREE opportuinities to stay at the Blue Sky (arrival, return from Gobi desert, return from Western Mongolia) and each time was superb.
The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms, service, and friendliness made each stay very wonderful and welcoming.
You can not go wrong with this hotel. It is GREAT!!!

Expect no hospitality from the staff. It's a total hit and miss, definitely more misses than hits. Check in counter officers / receptionists don't even try to be nice. No smile no greetings, no apologies when there are clearly issues from their end. One particular staff is the one handling my re-check in on August 19 5:30 pm. He seems to be doing whatever is the opposite of being hospitable.
It is not a bad hotel, the location is excellent and fcilities are okay-ish. However nobody seems to care of hospitality or guest experience.

Pulsating music outside all night long. Impossible to sleep here. The staff were completely not concerned by it. Maybe a room on the east side wouldn’t be as bad…I don’t know.
Restaurant was closed so we had to go to the lounge / restaurant on 23rd floor. Large and impressive menu, but nothing available. The pizza was and undercooked mush. Disgusting.
How this property can be a Preferred Hotel and Resort member is hard to believe.

Not a 5 star hotel, at best 1 star. Hotel ambience and lightings are terrible. Lobby is low class and cold. No amenities in room. Bathroom is terrible layout with terrible florescent lightings. Gym and spa is run down, broken tiles, looks and feels dirty. This hotel needs total renovation with interior design consultation
