My best friend suggested, I should stay at the Guesthouse instead of an apartment for 3 months. I decided to visit a day before I check-In and it turns out the dormitory beds are the kind I was looking, for my future Projects in West Africa & Alaska. The workers are all fluent in English, superb character and very accommodating. My personal interaction is far greater than I ever had in my previous travels around Mongolia. I consider it a blessings to be around while I am also learning a true hand experience, someday I might have to open a Bed & Breakfast Lounge. A posted Midnight Policy 12:00 AM that was implemented RESPECT to have a sound inter-relationship among Guest, but some Guest are totally dysfunctional moron instead of respect to others they look at it as insult. The cleanliness of the Hostel is awesome with a super plus knowledge of the entire countryside of Mongolia region. The Tour Guide is also a great Chef of Mongolia cuisine. I can highly recommend to all my friends in the US to stay with this particular Guesthouse. You can have that feeling of a family away from home type of environment.

I absolutely recommend this guesthouse, with really kind staffs, its perfect location and so exciting tours.

The place is OK really, placed in a quiet downtown area close to main square, museums, art galeries, shops, dining spots... The personnel are professional and kind enough. They serve fresh high-calorie breakfast...not so healthy but...come on...it is freezing cold outside there. The only thing I would change is a not very clean sofa. All in all, good money value.

Just got back from a 10 day tour with Sayku from City Guesthouse. Having been to 40+ countries, I have learned to keep my expectations reasonable, and I have done my fair share of tours, but the experiences I had in Mongolia were some of the most amazing I’ve had in my life thanks to Sayku and the rest of the crew, I was able to make a personalized tour based on what a friend and I wanted to do in our limited time, and when a French couple wanted do join us, not only did they ask me first, but also gave me a generous rebate which I never even asked for. Long story short, the four of us had one of the best trips anyone could imagine: sunset from the top of the sand dunes, a 3 day horse trip to Eight Lakes, and the hospitality of the nomadic people we met and stayed with along the way were the highlights for me. And Sayku, my brother from another mother, is the man that made it all happen.

I booked a one week tour in Central Mongolia through Victor. He planned the trip well in advance, taking into account special requests, arranged airport transfers and hotel in Ulaanbaatar for us, and then of course organised through his company a very nice trip with guide/cook, car and driver for us. The approach is to give you a real feel for the genuine Mongolia and how people really live, rather than being touristy, so you can experience the real Mongolia, not a "package tour version" of it. Price was reasonable for the service received and I was satisfied and not in any way disappointed with the service.

I made a 13-day tour of Central Mongolia with this agency. Experience, kindness and simplicity are the characteristics of this agency. Often you sleep in the Gher during the tours to support the lives of the nomads. We had a great time and I recommend this agency to everyone for the experience, the honest prices and the expertise of the guides and drivers. Viktor will help you plan your trip. My guide Saiko and the Driver Oghi were exceptional and in 13 days we became friends.

The package offered was the cheapest one we could find (80usd/day) which include skillfull and amazing driver, a good tourguide who was also our cook, comfortable stay in local gers, unlimited water supply, and entrance fees. We enjoyed each moment and would definitely chose this company again if we ever visited Mongolia again. Victor was an amazing host who helped us a lot. The guesthouse itself was located at Peace Avenue, with easy access to shopping complexes and multi-national cuisine restaurants.

I travelled thorough Gobi desert with this company for 5 days in July 2017. They been so kind to allow me to join the tour in last minute since I was struggling to find other people to make a group. Driver Tsendee, and two guides Amartuvshiin and Minjmaa really made us feel comfortable and safe. Very knowable and polite they really made friendly atmosphere always meeting our needs and wishes. We visited several amazing sites where only excellent driver could pass without problem! Guides always joined us for hiking giving all information about nature and history of places. Food they cooked was very testy and we had some great meals in the middle of the desert or in rocks in sunset! I can only strongly recommend this tour as it was more journey with the friends, without pushing, running or fake over politeness. In total one of the best experiences in my life!! Thank you guys, so much and good luck!!!

I feel it wouldn’t be fair to the people at City Guesthouse NOT writing a review, so I had to do it! I went to Ulaanbaatar and Mongolia in June 2017. It was a memorable holiday and the great people made a holiday to remember. Prior to arriving Mongolia, I signed up with the owner of the Guesthouse (Victor) to also take me one a six days’ trip to the Gobi Desert. The Guesthouse itself was basic and average compared to similar guesthouse I have been to. But the people made the difference. Victor provided me with the driver Tsendee and guide Amartuvshiin. In addition, they had a guide trainee, Minjmaa which also made a difference. The car was a newer Mitsubishi Outlander ell equipped with all needed for the expedition. We went to all the interesting sites in the Gobi, we stayed both in Gers (Nomadic houses) and tent. Luckily Amartuvshiin was a decent chef so I had some nice meals – just as a bonus! En-route we picked up my Serbian friend Mili and we made it to the end - all five of us. She even spoke some Russian – so Tsendee also had someone to communicate with! If you are considering traveling into Gobi, or other places in Mongolia, I can really recommend Victors team. They make you feel like a friend and you will enjoy their company. Despite that it can seem a little bit pricy compared to other means of transportation it is, in my opinion, good value for many to choose the combination of driver and guide. Next time I come to Mongolia I will choose City Guesthouse and their guided tours again.
