I recently had the pleasure of staying at this excellent hotel overnight. I was unexpectedly upgraded to a corner suite which was of superior quality and style. Upon check-out I needed to locate the unknown port at which my cruise ship was docking and the reception staff were absolutely fantastic in assisting me. I highly recommend this hotel as it...

I didn't have many expectations, my only concern was to be close to the Metro sice it was my first visit in Istanbul and to have internet access for my professional needs. Both were met. Staff was helpful but smile is not their strong quality. Hotel is neglected in certain details. Room furniture, especially ni the bathroom were in a...

I have NEVER stayed at a hotel in the past (and I have been in hundreds over the years) that was a better experience than I had at the Hotel Sisli. I was attending a conference at the Cevahir Hotel and convention center in Istanbul (my first time in this magnificent city) and was looking for a simple place at...

In July 2012 my mother and my grandmother visited me in Istanbul. I had to find a hotel for them, near my location. I looked around in Nisantasi and was not impressed with the service, or the noise pollution. Then I went to Hotel Sisli. I ran into Hakan, the reception guy who works there everyday 8am-8pm. His English was...

I have been staying in this hotel for 2-3 years. It used to be better, but the owners postpone a major renewal and it is getting worse. Meantime it is the cheapest hotel in Şişli area, which is a lively business and shopping area. In overall it is in the limits of being decent. Both the building, rooms and management...

I have to say, I was not looking forward to staying in hotel Sisli (pronouced Shishli). Reviews were very mixed, but it is where a group of colleagues were based for meetings in Istanbul. I was worried about location, noise, facilities, cleanliness and friendliness of staff. I need not have been. The hotel is not in a location that commands...

I stayed at this hotel for two nights on a business trip to Istanbul. Was given a room on the 6th floor. Turned out the lift was only working up to 5th floor and last set of stairs I had to carry a heavy suitcase myself. The room was TINY, the wallpaper coming off the walls, the bed small and...

Hotel Sisli is near Sisli/Mecidiyekoy station and Jewahir shopping centre. The location is quite convenient if you have to go to the main city or to Maslak business district. However the rooms are very small and just enough to stretch your feet. The rooms were clean but the services were basic. Good thing was that the free wireless Internet worked...

Staying in Sisli

Neighbourhood Profile
Sisli
For much of Istanbul’s history, Sisli and the area just north of Taksim Square were open countryside used mostly as hunting grounds. These days, Sisli and its chic streets are considered the very heart of contemporary Istanbuli life, where an epicenter of fashion and a thriving business district meet to create an expressly “downtown” feel. Though largely a residential neighborhood, luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and upscale shops abound with many of them situated inside or nearby Cevahir Istanbul, the biggest shopping mall in Europe and second biggest urban shopping mall in the world. Shopaholics and fashionistas travel from near and far to browse the area's mix of major global brand items and creations by popular Turkish designers.
