I have travelled all around the world and never was I treated so badly by a hotel staff member as i was at this Hotel Emek in Istanbul. The hotel staff member in question turned out to be the manager, which has left me to write this negative review, something I do not like doing but I feel I need...

What i liked: - location is very very nice -- close to historical places, to transport, bosphorus is also near so u can walk and enjoy the view whenever u want. Despite of closing to transport and touristic places, street is calm and safe. Near hotel a lot of souvenir's shops with less price than other places. - terrace on...

Stayed in this hotel for a week with my friend whilst exploring Istanbul. Quiet location, clean, brilliant views of the river from rooftop, breakfast was lovely thanks to the kind friendly waiter Ali, rooms small not a problem though. Overall I would recommend it.

No-frills, but it's clean (if you've been to India budget hotels, believe me) and safe. The breakfast is very basic but otherwise ok. The staff was helpful enough, though they take bookings from many sources, which might lenghten the check in a bit.

I only heard receptionist to say We have a problem and asked me to go reception after the first night. Then I received the key to another (a little bit) better room. Actually room...

No doubt, the location is great, easy walking distance from most places you want to be in central Istanbul. But my single room had no view at all, had no wardrobe, and no manoevering room. Disappointed.

"+" Hotel is located in five minutes by walk from the tram stop Gülhane, on a quiet street. Almost in the center of the tourist district of Istanbul (Sultanahmet). Very convenient - just get out and go in any direction. All is close by. "-" Only room on the first floor (lobby) is located next to the toilet, and window...

As well as being in a perfect location, close to the major historical sights, the ferry terminal and tram links, the warm and friendly welcome really makes you feel comfortable. The rooms are very small but it's just a place to sleep and the whole place is immaculately clean, with towels changed every day. The shower/wc's are very modern with...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
