Best location in Istanbul for visiting the old city. Breakfast was super. Both international and local. Rooms are big and clean. Everyday changing the towels. The staff are really service minded. We have nothing to claim on.

I wish all matters in Turkey were this easy: when in Istanbul, book Darussaade. Location is excellent, terras view is breathtaking, breakfast is superb, rooms are clean and beds are good. But the staff is making the difference. It is the best example of genuine Istanbul hospitality: perfect service, genuine interest and surprising insights into Turkish society and where to...

My wife and I booked a weeks holidy at the Darussaade Hotel in Istanbul and enjoyed a delightful stay. The hotel is well positioned, the rooms impeccable. Room 303 has triple aspect windows with the Blue Mosque seen from one side and the Bospherus from the other. The staff were very helpful and pleasant at all times and the breakfast...

It was our second time in Istanbul after nine years. The city has changed and progressed a lot! Compare to our first stay we had enough experience about the city before booking our accommodation. Where to stay, what to do, where to eat etc. If you are a tourist, Sultanahmet is the best neighborhood to explore the old city and...

I stayed in Darussaade March 2014 for a week long business trip. As stated by others the location of the hotel is as good as it gets especially for tourist activities. So after a long day at work it was very easy to just walk out the door and find a restaurant to have a dinner or to have a...

I stayed there in march 2014. A very nice, cosy small hotel with very friendly personnel. It gives you a nice family feeling. The location is perfect, located in old town next to the Blue Mosque, on a few minutes walk from the T1 tram station of Sultanahmet from where you can easily reach the other parts of the city....

This hotel has many great reasons to stay however for me on the top of the list would have to be LOCATION. It is walking distance to restaurants, convenience stores (mainly to get bottled water for us), local shops to pick up some souvenirs and of course the main attractions including the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Underground Cisterns....

Probably one of the best choices for Istanbul. Very good and quiet location with access to many good restaurants and 5 minute walking to Sultanahmet square. The room was elegant and friendly staff. Good breakfast too. The only minus is represented by the prices at the bar: 12 EUR for a drink which is 17 TL at the other restaurants...

Perfect location, perfect hotel, courtesy and services. Particular kind of rooms, classic style, in a wooden made old house. Totally restored. The Hotel is located in a beautiful, very particular, and very quiet side of Sultanahmet, close to Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya.

Great hotel for a number of reasons (elegant rooms, friendly, helpful staff, convenient location, good price), but out of about 15 European countries to which we've traveled, the breakfast here was the best we've had by far! Also, we have a baby, and the baby cot they provide takes up quite a bit of floor space, so they were kind...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
