This is one of the best hostels I have stayed in. The location, next to the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia is perfect. The dorm beds are clean. The staff is friendly and helpful, they helped me a lot with recommendations, printing etc. The moment you come they give you a cute map/welcome note - which makes the experience so... More

I stayed for 6 nights in a double room with bath (staying solo). I was given a choice of rooms when I checked in. The property is kept very clean and the room was also clean and had a good number of places to put all my stuff. There was a long 3 shelf book stand which was perfect for... More

My boyfriend and I had booked accommodation elsewhere and had ditched it (it was hellishly sketchy) and we're glad to find Agora. Immediately we could tell it was a good, clean hostel and the receptionist was extremely helpful. Our private room was very large for the price with an ensuite and very clean. We loved staying here and it was... More

Good place, good food, good location! People were very friendly and helpful! Clean and organized! I went with a friend who was there before, and I will be using again in the future! Really suggest for the ones with small budget! But also has options for single or couples rooms!

The staff were amazing and did everything they could to assist me in enjoying Istanbul. Price was incredible as well. The breakfast saved me a lot of money. It was delicious, all-you-can eat with a variety of food so it didn't get boring.

This hostel was a fantastic find. So cheap, and right in the heart of the city. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the hostel was so lovely. The breakfast was really nice, especially the home made muffins! I would recommend this to everyone going there.

This very charming small hotel could not have a better location, nestled in the heart of the Old City nearly in the shadow of Hagia Sophia. Its accommodations are quite pleasant and very clean and well maintained. The breakfast is very delicious and the view of the waters of the Bosphorus, from the dining room, magnificent and inspiring. The staff... More

The hotel staff treated me like family and helped me with Taxi's and reservations for Hamam, restaurants, etc. I will stay again. The staff made sure I had everything I needed. They have a wonderful terrace with views of the Black Sea and they serve tea. This is not a luxury guesthouse. But the rooms are very clean and comfortable,... More

Nice and clean with fantastic marmalade for breakfast and great view of the city from the rooftop overlooking the Golden Horn and the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. It's a short distance from the historical center and there are many good restaurants in the area.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
