Without writing an essay the points to note are: Easy to book - did over e-mail and all replies were prompt. Fantastic location - we were wondering how easy it would be to get around if we didn't stay in the tourist area. Public transport was fantastic and the hotel lent us the Istanbul equivalent of an Oyster Card that...

This was our first visit to Istanbul/Turkey and we were lucky enough to find this location thru TripAdvisor and all the positive reviews posted. First off the booking process, thru an email, was fast, efficient and the preferred method to help manage cost of booking...could be a way to negotiate the rate. There was very useful pointers from the reply...

This is a great boutique hotel with wondeful staff and great location. Sennur and Gulten will take wonderful care of you. Don't miss out on the oppertunity to eat breakfast each day down in the lobby with them. You will not regret the incite into the city and Turkish culture that they will provide. The Hotel has 5 rooms with...

We (my wife & I) stayed for last week in October 2009. We arrived in dead of night to be greeted by a happy, smiling Semmur (co Owner). Reception was very warm and after brief admin. we were shown to our room on the 3rd floor. FANTASTIC! It was spacious, modern, cool and above all comfortable. Breakfast each day was...

The 5 Oda hotel has been a good choice for our stay in Istanbul: it is well located, in a quiet street close to the night life, the rooms are large and perfectly clean and the hosts are absolutely charming and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay at 5oda. Sennur and Gulten were both excellent hosts. They were very helpful in making plans. Sennur even loaned me her shoes so that I did not have to walk around in the rain! And they offered us free use of their umbrellas, too. Furthermore, the rooms with their modern style are unique among hotels....

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
