5oda has a great location, two blocks from Galata Tower and Iskele Caddesi ( lively, mile long pedestrian street) and the upper Tunel station( the short but extremely useful funicular that runs from near Galata bridge up the steep hill to Iskele. ). The rooms are large-- modern Scando appearance with built-in kitchenette , but the bathroom looks like an...

Stayed at 5Oda in February and loved it! PROS: The location is just perfect in a quiet street next to Tünel and İstiklâl Caddesi. The hotel is clean, cozy and it makes you feel at ease (in the hall you can find also plenty of info and guide books about Istanbul). The 4th floor room is bright, wide, well furnished...

We stayed at 5oda in April 2013 for three nights but with an early check-in and a late check-out it seemed much longer... When I read the reviews and I can see the pluses and the minuses. Mobility challenged, then give them a miss. Stairs into the property. Claustrophobic, then give them a miss. Two person lift. Bothered by people...

The hotel is very close to galata tower but hard to find for the taxi driver. The owner is very helpful but not around all the time so if you want to check in at a different time then she has to make an extra trip. The room is big with kitchen so if you are a family who cooks...

It was a true pleasure to stay at 50da. The staff is dedicated to answering any and all questions about a city that I for one was not all too familiar with. They are truly committed not only that your accommodations are acceptable and comfortable but that you thrive while on vacation and are able to take full advantage of...

You cannot get a better location near the Galata Tower. Excellent breakfast (included) and brought directly into your room within 15 minutes of calling. Is actually a suite with dishes, coffeemaker, coffee, wifi. Parking was 50 feet away. Only point is that it is on a fairly steep hill (20degree incline) so keep that in mind if you have mobility...

If you are looking for personalized hospitality, and great location in the artsy district of Istanbul, this is a great choice! The rooms are comfortable, and the decor is modern as it should be in a boutique hotel. The only downfall was the difficulty in securing an Internet connection, maybe because we were on the top floor. If this problem...

I stayed at 5oda in March 2013 for three nights and loved it. The location is perfect - in the middle of great shopping, bars and restaurants and just a 10-15 min walk across the bridge to Aya Sofia and the rest of the Istanbul must sees. The hotel staff was super friendly, laid back and helpful; they always had...

The hotel was recommended to us by friends and we stayed in 5 Oda for 4 nights in February. Positives: fantastic location, very friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast, very spacious rooms. Negatives: Bear in mind the size of the rooms, the bathroom was absolutely tiny. Obviously, this is a personal thing but I do like my bathrooms spacious and...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
