Good choice of hotel. next to the main tourist sites. however, the room is extremely small for the tariff charged. moreover, was charged with the airport transfer. only the transfer from airport to hotel is not charged. around twice the cost of a taxi normal. also lacked promptness reception with directions and restaurant recommendations. anyway, is a good option to...

the hotel is centrally situated close to hagia sofia and grand bazaar. the service is very good at the reception. we got a nice and comprehensive introduction about istanbul together with a cold drink when we arrived. this was very nice. the rooms are not very large but sufficicent for a city trip where you spend most of the time...

Had a great experience checking in to Agora Life Hotel. The man that welcomed us at a desk provided a map of the city and pointed out "must sees." Very personable experience. They also included a free bottle of wine, bottled water and a fruit plate in the room. Would highly recommend if you want to just settle in to...

You really cannot get a better place for the money in this area. You are a 3 minute walk from the likes of Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. There are so many wonderful restaurants in the area too, so the need to look further afield for some good eats is not necessary. All staff at the hotel...

The location is excelent, near to all major attractions. However its located in a very quiet street. The staff is extremely helpful and welcoming, ready to support with all they could. The view from the terrace was the best I have ever experienced in Istanbul. I highly recommend having breakfast there if the weather is ok. Also try to get...

We booked this hotel on the advice of a Turkish friend and found it to be an oasis of calm in a city with a population variously estimated to be between 13 million and 24 million people. Once you get past 10 million people the chances of finding a quiet spot to sleep are probably limited. The Agora Life hotel...

Agora Life Hotel is close to main downtown attractions. The hotel staff is extremely friendly, giving all information we need. As promised and “advertised”, the view from our window was great. We could see Hagia Sophia and the sunrise over it was special. We’ve been to some restaurants with beautiful views, but the view from the terrace was the best...

My wife, daughter and I stayed at the Agora Life Hotel for one week. If we return to Istanbul, we will definitely stay there again. The hotel is modern, clean and comfortable, and the staff is friendly and great to work with. It is on a quiet street in the heart of the historic part of the city. The breakfasts...

We highly recommend this gem of a hotel - small, personal, excellently managed and very well run. The rooms are lovely, quiet and comfortable, the buffet breakfasts offer plentiful choices, the staff, very attentive, but the roof top terrace - oh the rooftop terrace! From the roof we would start our mornings with coffee, and end up there in the...

This hotel is one of the best I have been. I was here with my aunt. The hotel is located ideally, a lot of sightseeing places, the big bazaar, but also cute nice restaurants. The hotel staff were lovely, they helped us out with everything we asked. The hotel is gorgeous, nice light rooms, an awesome rooftop terras and absolutely...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
