I stayed at the room 101 of this hotel on 11th, 12th day of August. The manager of this hotel was kind, and the room was good. I could use hot water at any time. Especially, I really enjoyed the breakfast. However, I felt inconvenienced when I opened the closed or locked door (room door, restroom door, all) because it... More

Best location for a true Turkish experience. Hotel room was very clean, change of towels and linen everyday, mini fridge for personal use, air-conditioner a lifesaver, very friendly and helpful Managers and Staff. We just dropped our shopping at the desk each day and the staff took same to our room upstairs. The Manager arranged our shuttle from and back... More

Great location for the hotel but extremely poky rooms which clearly had not had a proper cleaning in quite some time as I found an empty water bottle behind the (non-working) fridge that did not belong to me. Also had the distinct sensation that some sort of creature was biting me at night in the bed. Shower was okay but... More

By far the best location right next to the best tourist attractions, tram line and the cheerful restaurant down stairs. The hotel has a young cosy atmosphere with Turkish "mama" making and serving the breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I shared a quad room, and it was better than I expected. The room was spacious and the bathroom was large and cleaned daily, with fresh towels. The staff were better than I could have expected, they treated us more like house guests which made the trip much more memorable...and the breakfast was our best meal in Istanbul, I wish... More

Upon arriving at the hotel we found there was a slight mix-up with the room requirement. As there was no other room available we feared the worst but the staff quickly made the necessary changes for us in quick time. The room was very small but this is an old world, boutique place and you dont book it if you... More

We booked two rooms at Hotel Han for 3 nights at the end of April. We had the rooms on the 3rd floor with access to the small balcony. There is no elevator, so maybe not the best choice if you mind going up the narrow stairs. Both rooms were clean, air conditioned and eye-catching due to the colourful decoration.... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“Rooms are small, so best room would be 101.”
 of 5 bubbles 21091959, 14 Oct 2014 | Read review
“Definitely make sure you get a room looking out to the front, and avoid 214! The rooms certainly do not look (any more) like they do online ... and contrary to the hotel website, there was neither a 'pitcher of water' nor a mini-bar in the room (there was a small empty fridge, which is also fine, if that is in fact what is advertised as coming with the room.)”
  • Superfice has overtaken quality.
  • Lamps that don't light don't need a dimmer.
  • Clunky furniture ... robbing space and more in the way than useful.
  • Charming balcony with a view to ... ehmmm, nothing.

“We have the corner (smaller but) quieter room. We slept with white noise and almost heard nothing. Our friends who had the bigger room facing main street, was kept awaken by random dogs barking during the first night but other nights were ok.”
