When I was looking for accommodation in Istanbul I read so many excellent reviews about Saban and his hotel/apartments, but having experienced his hospitality first hand, everything I read was an understatement! From the very first time I contacted him Saban was sooooooooooooo helpful....above and beyond the call of duty! Via e-mail he sent me photos, patiently and courteously answered...

We spend here our first week in Istanbul. The driver from the hotel could not make it (free pick-up), so the owner offered us to take a cab that would be paid by the hotel. The location is great, walking distance (up the hill a little) to the Blue Mosque (could see from a bedroom window and the balcony) and...

We stayed here twice, once for four nights at the beginning of our Turkey trip and again for two nights at the end of our trip, with our three boys (ages 8, 4 and 4). We loved it. The location is excellent, being a 5-minute walk from Sultanahmet Square (the Hippodrome) and a 10-minute walk from a good playground. Saban...

I spent 3 days at Ekim Apart with my husband and some more days on my own. The apartment was very nice and clean, the location was great (you hear the muezzins at night, but that happens anywhere in the area anyway) and I felt safe also to be there on my own. The cleaning lady came by every day...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
