Istanbul is a fabulous city. Fabulous people, fabulous food, fabulous everything. We loved our holiday. Except for this hotel. The breakfasts were good, the bed was comfy but the room was pokey and dark and the staff's attitude seemed begrudging. The water went off for some hours every mid-morning; not a problem had we been warned but we weren't and...

We were 4 people and the suite we were given had 2 rooms but they were extremely tight. I seem to remember more roomy hotels on previous visits to the city but it has been a long time now. The decorations were heavily brocaded and perhaps traditional. The breakfast area was near the check in and it was a dark...

Hotel is located in the old city of sultanahmet so it's walking distance to main attractions such as blue mosque, hagia sophia, etc. That's the best part. When we arrived at the hotel, the AC was not working in the entire hotel. It took them a day to fix this issue. Worst part is we were not told of this...

Aaaah... Istanbul... so colourful, magical, enchanting, aromatic, noicy, alive, unique! The location of the hotel is perfect. You go out and in not more than three minutes, you`ll see the Blue Mosque and square, leading to Aya Sofia. We went with two friends, so we booked a family room, which is actually two rooms connected with a door. The rooms...

Hotel nearby Istanbul's historical places such as Blue mosque, Topkapi palace, Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sofia & Hipodrome. For those who would like to go to Thaksim, Sultanahmet train station is just nearby the hotel. Easy to get food, there's a lot of restaurants nearby. Staff are helpful but room is too small, same menu for breakfast everyday & no complimentary...

We had a great stay, booked by our travel agent. There's only one reception staff that can speak good english and he is very helpful, name is Harun. Location near the Hagia Sofya, Topkapi Palace & Tram station at the back of the hotel. Near the Sultanahmet area and restaurant is just nearby. Breakfast included, however they never change the menu....

The staff was great here and the room was really clean and accommodating. However, it is up a steep hill, so beware. Fine for the physically able but not so fine for the physically challenged. And the location meant taxi drivers WAY overcharged for the return trip from down the hill. Breakfast (included) was quite diverse and the Turkish coffee...

We had a terrific weekend visit to Istanbul! We arrived on an early flight but our room was ready and we were kindly welcomed. The staff, especially Mehmet, were so helpful as this was our first visit to the city. The room was clean and had a great view of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. We will definitely stay...

This was a return visit for us and I have to say it is great to see some wonderful things in life don't change. From the hospitality of the staff, cleanliness of the rooms, outstanding breakfast and afternoon snacks it is an exceptional experience. We will revisit again soon!

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
