I stayed at this hotel for 14 nights in April, 2017. This was my second trip to Istanbul. I chose this hotel after doing some research prior to my trip and it paid off. The hotel is in a great location, Sultanahmet area. It is within 10 minutes walk to a the Sultanahmet tram stop. Your walk will talk you...

A lovely hotel with an excellent location! Our family of 6 had a splendid time here, it was clean, comfortable with a filling breakfast on the terrace while facing the bosphorus (cant ask for better). The hotel is a 5 min walk to topkapi palace and is in the quieter part of sultanahmet. They do not have a lift so...

This hotel was primarily recommended to us by a friend who has enjoyed staying at Esans a couple of years ago. We were a family of six we received the kind offer of staying at the third floor with beautiful and special see view rooms. We also received an upgrade offer of one room to a deluxe room free of...

It takes you 3 minutes from the gate of Topkapı to Esans. All staff is eager to help, room was clean and very nice, decent breakfast on the terrace with view. Check-out by noon, but you can leave your luggage in the lobby if your flight is in the later afternoon or night. Would recommend.

A homely, quiet, friendly place in the middle of Sultanahmet, just around the corner from the hustle and bustle of Akbiyik. All of the old town within walking distance and the tramway platform a five minute walk away if you want to go further. Lovely terrace, lots of fresh flowers ('Esans' means 'essence' -as in smell- in any other language)

My wife and I found Esans on the internet and booked there for 9 nights. The location is within 300 meters from the main square nd walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, the Basilica Cistern, and the train station. The train station takes you to the Bosporus Cruise, the Grand and Spice Bazaar, the Galata Tower,...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
