It was lovely to be back in the Minel Hotel, sadly only for a few days. This was some of the most kind and generous hospitality we have ever experienced in our travels. Highly recommended!

Minel Hotel is now our number one hotel to stay in Istanbul. We have been to Istanbul a number of times now and Minel Hotel is the best value for your money. The location could not be more central being just a 5 minute walk to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia and Topkapi Palace. The staff were incredibly accommodating and... More

Minel Hotel is in a great location, near to Topkapi palace, Haghia Sofia, Grand Bazaar and Bazilika Cistern. The hotel itself is great value for money. The rooms are small, but clean and modern, in a peaceful side street and staff is there 24 hours a day. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always offering us a tea when... More

We had the most amazing stay at this little boutique hotel. The location is practically perfect within shouting distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and The Grand Bazaar. The best part was the staff! They were warm and friendly and helpful, especially Gonul, Mahmet and Massoud. No question was too much, no request too much trouble. If... More

Hoyek is in the middle of everything very close to main attractions. The service is amazing, the people are really nice offering us tea or coffee at every time of the day or night. The rooms are exactly as shown in the pictures, quite small but this is typicall for istanbul. Heating is working (very important in winter time) and... More

I booked this hotel through Expedia because it looked simple and clean. I was not disappointed! The hotel is at very convenient location in sultanahmet near the tram rail and right next to the Gulhane park/Topkapi palace (a must see)! Minutes from the blue mosque or the Aya Sophia and several places to eat around there! Hotel itself is run... More

Very good location (near to important turistic places. Very friendly and helpful staff. Small rooms. cleaning of the room could be improved. Bathroom good size comparing with the room. No lift, so bad luck if your room is in third floor. Breakfast very good and varied.

Our stay at Minel Hotel was fantastic. This was our first time in Turkey and staying there was the best. Not only is it within a two minute walk of all the sights in Sultanahmet (Topkapi, Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque) it is very close to the Metro. The staff were all very helpful both before our trip while we were... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
