I didn't exactly stay at this hotel, but one of the hostel type apartment a few streets away from this hotel. I was walking around the area trying to find a place to stay for 4 nights when i stumbled across Mr Topal who told me he could get me a room for 50 Lira per night with breakfast included.... More

My mistake, I booked this hotel through another travel website before reading the reviews. My mistake, like everyone else I was taken to the Hotel Sefa was told that Indo was under renovations. It was awful and bore no resemblance to the description given. I did stay as I was sick and could not deal with trying to find alternate... More

Arrived to find our room wasnt ready, the address given was not the hotel and we were shown down several back roads to a hostel style building. The owner was aggressive when we did not want to pay upfront for the room. The man that showed us to the rooms later that week made an inappropriate pass at myself, thankfully... More

Two of my friends and I booked this hotel through booking.com for a weekend trip to Istanbul. Our reservation was confirmed, even by the manager himself who had personally written to us by email. We wrote in advance to let them know that we would be arriving after midnight and were assured that it was not a problem. When we... More

After a long flight from Chicago, I got to the hotel (around 7:00 pm) only to find out that there was no rooms available. I showed them my reservation through Expedia and they said they do not have rooms available. Nobody at the front desk (if I can call it the front desk, it was just a table in the... More

I wish I had seen all the negative reviews on this site before booking. The theme of this being a horrible "hotel" with a dishonorable manger is consistent with my experience. Under no uncertain terms YOU SHOULD NOT STAY at this hotel, for any price. The few good things about this hotel: It is well located, a short walk to... More

We showed up and found out they moved us to another hotel (let's says old apartment building) down a back alley which they said said was a "5* for safety" - we decided to find another hotel!

This is really a BAD hotel. Rooms small and unfinished with major problems. Ours had shower, sink and toilet with major leaks, broken window and collapsing ceiling. Management asks for payment upon arrival so it's too late to back out once you've seen room. Impossible to find an employee (no lobby) to get any kind of assistance at all. The... More

I booked the Indo Hotel via an online agency. I have previously used this agency elsewhere and about one month before my trip had obtained the booking confirmation for my 4 night stay. The confirmed booking means that the hotel can take your money upfront early evening to continue holding the room, but my arrival was actually earlier than this.... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
