The owners have more than one apartment. Not associated with the Flamingo Hotel. We stayed in a large studio with three beds, dishwasher, veranda facing the Blue Mosque, full kitchen with microwave and cable TV. Lots of light from the patio, small school next door (don't worry it's not noisy), on a quiet street. Very clean. The owner and staff...

This is a simply furnished apartment hotel with all basic necessary amenities. While the apartments are not lavishly furnished, they have all the basic amenities and provide a handy kitchenette for quick meals. This was specially helpful for us as we were a huge family traveling with kids. The highlight of these apartments is the location! It's right in middle...

TA review Flamingo It should have been a not-too-stressful jaunt in from the Ataturk airport to the Sultanahmet tramway stop. From there you’ll be walking downhill, most likely through the Hippodrome and its Egyptian needle monuments further down the hill towards Little Hagia Sofia Church. You’ll pick up the word Kuçu, meaning small as you leave its büyük’ (big) counterpart...

Flamingo Apartment is tucked in a small street less than 10 minutes walk from Sultan Ahmet Camii, also known as the Blue Mosque. The mini Hagia Sophia is 2 minutes walk from the apartment. The apartment is a fairly old building. Located on the second/top floor of the building. There were a few eateris, grocery store, souvenir shops, etc within...

Great flat on the last floor( 4th) with amazing view of Asian side and blue mosque on other. There is access to roof taras which is more enjoyable during the summer I assume. Me and hubby stay there end of February so we didn't use much the taras itself. In each floor is one flat. Stairs is very narrow so...

Location is perfect and safe to walk even at night; 5 minutes walking distance to Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace and Basilica Cistern. And 20 minutes to Grand Bazaar. There are restaurants, tourist shops, exchange centres nearby. We met Hakan on the late night (11:30 PM) we arrived. He was friendly and customer-oriented person. Gurkan (the owner) had...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
