Fantastic hotel - big spacious rooms and the lovely peaceful roof terrace for breakfast in the morning which made the trip! I enjoyed the pot plants on the roof and art on the walls, great metro connections right on your door step. We ate at the restaurant and the food was good, waiters were helpful and tried to position a...

Beautifully restored art nuveau style building in the Beyoglu area. The hotel is block away from the Istiklal Cadesi, and tunnel (that connects to the metro) is nearby. I stayed in two of this hotel's standard rooms. I like the minimalistic and modern decor of the rooms, which combined with high ceilings make the rooms feel spacious. Bed linens feel...

We had a large room with wooden floors. The hotel prides itself on using only natural and organic materials that give it a slightly cool, Scandinavian feel. Everything worked, the shower was excellent, and roaming around in the neighborhood was great fun. The only problem we encountered was at check-in when another large family group arrived at the same time...

Great place to stay right near Istiklal Street. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Great shower and the air conditioning was appreciated. The roof top terrace was a real plus - great views of the city. You are right down the street from the Palace Hotel - an old landmark hotel that's been refurbished - be...

The highlight of this hotel is the great views from the roof terrace restaurant. Right across the city over the Bosphorus. The staff are incredibly helpful and the atmosphere around the place is great. A few steps from the "tunel" and the bottom of Istiklal caddesi you are in the very heart of Istanbul.

I began to write this review two weeks before we actually left for Istanbul. I wanted to remember to say something about how good they (Mr. Gem Akat) were in answering quite a number of questions (seven emails worth) I had prior to our departure. Based on this very positive first contact, I knew our stay would be good. No,...

The trouble with architects - and this is an architect-led restoration of a fabulous old building - is that they appear to care more about buildings than the people who inhabit them. This is the case here. The hotel lacks any of the comforts and charms we've come to expect in every hotel, because we find they make our stay...

The Adahan is a boutique hotel that has retained the old style and charm of the building and rooms. From the original ceramic floor tiles, high ceilings to the marble staircases with wrought iron railings. The room we had was very spacious with a comfortable bed. Our room was an interior room which meant that there was poor natural lighting...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
