I stayed in the Uyan Hotel for 4 days in late November, 2006. Having read other reviews, I had my concerns. But, I must agree with those who had a very pleasant stay (and these folks seem to be in the majority). I was met at the airport as agreed. I was placed on the third floor in a Deluxe...

I stayed here 4 nights in July 2006 and we had the opposite experience of the last two reviewers. The driver not only met me at the airport but when I mentioned that I liked to fish, he drove me through the fish market on the way to the hotel so I could see the fresh catch that morning. He'd...

I visited Istanbul, Turkey recently... I stayed in Sultanahmet at the Uyan Hotel. It was the perfect place to stay for my visit in Istanbul. Just a few minutes walk away from all the historical sites in Sultanahmet. I could see Sultanahmet Mosque and Aya Sofia and the Bosphorus from their terrace. A breathtaking panoramic view of Istanbul!! I spent...

We booked a 4 night stay at the Uyan hotel in October through Venere and after arranging the complimentary shuttle service from the airport to the hotel (by Email and confirming by phone) we where disappointed to find nobody at the airport to meet us, after locating a phone and waiting a further 1/2 hour we where eventually picked up....

We were booked to stay at the Uyan Hotel for 6 nights in early October. At check-in, we were shown to a dark, dreary room totally surrounded by high walls. When we requested a room change, we were told we would be able to move the following morning, which satisfied us. The next morning, we asked about the change and...

We were astonished to read some of the effusive reviews below as we do not recognise the hotel we stayed at from these. First some positive points - The Uyan is in an excellent location, right in the centre and commanding excellent views of the Blue Mosque from the roof terrace. It also benefits from beiıng very close to the...

We stayed at the Hotel Uyan for two nights and could not have been any more happier. We were upgraded to a deluxe suite at no extra cost due to space availability. Extremely clean room with a very large sitting area and large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. A wonderful view from the roof top dining and sitting area. Hotel...

Loved the Uyan. I stayed here by myself for 4 nights and had a great stay. The room was impeccably clean and the bathroom was modern with strong water pressure. I had a single, which was very small, but they gave me a larger room for no extra cost one night b/c the singles were booked. The hotel staff were...

My boyfriend and I went over spring beak last March. Since we were on a students budget, this proved to be the most economical-yet-nice hotel I could find. The prices were great, the location great, and the rooms and hotel decor in general were beautiful. I don't like to stay in squalor even though I am a poor student..and while...

I'm a single senior citizen who stayed at the Uyan Hotel from May 3 to May 10. Prior to my trip I looked at numerous web sites at various hotels. Because I flew on a frequent flier ticket ($91 RT international business class from Knoxville, TN) I felt that I could pay a little more to stay in an upscale...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
