As a tour guide I used to have some guests who stayed in this hotel. Each time I visit them they were offering me someting to drink until I wait. During the Ramadan time one day they even offered me to dine with them which was a good gesture from the staff. Its in agreat location, near Cemeberlitas tram stop...

Very close to the main attractions in Sultanhamet and the tram. I just had a whirlwind visit of Istanbul this time as a stop-over so the location of the hotel was of prime importance. The hotel was also well managed, the breakfast on the roof had a stunning view and the reception staff helpful. The room is a bit dated,...

A simple yet perfectly located hotel for a few days in Istanbul. Limited service offerings, very good wifi, a pleasant rooftop breakfast room. Poor aircon which is a problem given surrounding noise means you need to shut the window. The bathroom was ok in size but the shower was risky small given a dangerous split level bath base made for...

On a recent visit to Turkey we stayed for three nights at Hotel Nena in Istanbul. A fantastic location not for from Sultanahmet Square with the two tram stops very close by. It is a small hotel and our room was comfortable with a small balcony. The roof top terrace is perfect for breakfast with views to the Blue Mosque...

Good location with a helpful and responsive staff. Breakfast was very good also. The room was little smaller than anticipated, but it was fine. The hotel accommodated us by bringing in an extra bed to accommodate a family of 5.

This is in a very prime location. You can easily move to the main attraction from the hotel by waking few minutes. You can find verity of Turkish restaurant beside the hotel. Breakfast is good and the front desk stuffs are okay. Room is ok but very small in size. Inside the bathroom, the bathtub is uneven. Please be careful...

We stayed at the Nena Hotel for two nights in April. The location is excellent with all the attractions in the Sultanahmet area within very easy walking distance. Staying at Hotel Nena was probably the best choice I made in my short trip to Istanbul. I wanted make sure I saw all the important sights with as little travel time as possible and I could not have picked a better hotel to allow this. The location is superb, minutes from all the main sights; blue mosque, topkapi palace,...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
