I found the Dersaadet through Trip Advisor and have no hesitation recommending it. It is on a quite street in the Sultanhamet district of Istanbul. The rooms are charming and spotlessly clean. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful. I was only there for 3 days but I felt like a member of the family! The rooftop terrace is a...

The Hotel is at a great location - less than 10 walking minutes to Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque, Hippodrome. Easy to reach from Trams stop (10-15 minutes, but bumpy sidewalks) so you can take the dependable tram/ metro from and to the airport for a mere 4 TL. If you walk downhill, you reach the seaside in 10 minutes...

Staying at the Dersaadet Hotel was one of the best travel decisions we've ever made. Great, friendly staff, a rooftop breakfast with an amazing view, lovely old-world decor and exquisite Turkish-style bathrooms.

When you come away from a hotel and your only complaints are that the shower leaked slightly and there was no fresh orange juice included in the breakfast it is a sign that the hotel has been brilliant. Lovely little roof terrace (view over the Bosphorous), clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff located in the heart of the old part...

This hotel is located in a delapided street.I We were planing to stay one week, we stayed only one night. We had a room downstairs ( more like a basement) that was humid, damp and smells like mold. I was coughing the whole night. In fact, I got sick, with a cold for 5 days, from breathing mold all night...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
