We arranged this four day city break through our local travel agent, and she did us proud! We have visited Istanbul before, but it was as part of a cruise, and therefore a bit rushed. This time we thought we'd take a little longer and spend more time at the splendid historical sites. We had no idea where to stay...

This hotel is in the old town - very convenient for everywhere we wanted to go - eg walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Ayasofya... We could also walk to the Grand Bazaar but it was closed for the end of Ramadan when we were there (doh!) The views from the hotel were great. at breakfast we were...

This is a first rate hotel. We had a superior room overlooking the Marmara sea. The room was compact but pleasant and had everything the traveller would require. Free wifi which was good, kettle and tea/coffee, satellite TV, fridge and plenty of storage space. Our room had a tiny sofa that you could sit on and look at the sea....

Just down the hill from Sultan Ahmet Camii — which my room's window had a good view of — and with a breakfast terrace overlooking the Sea of Marmara and the Bosporus, the location is only bettered by the friendly, helpful staff. My only niggle is that three single beds in one room is a bit cramped. If there are...

We stayed here in transit to Gallipoli, and wish we had more time! Great location on Bosphorus, near Hague Sofia and Blue Mosques! Service was great, rooftop restaurant fantastic! Old but clean and stately hotel. Loved it.

A group of 7 of us has recently spent 4 nights at this hotel. It had been recommended to me as convenient and comfortable and exceeded expectations. The upstairs terrace is a win with amazing views especially at night when the HagiaSofia and the Blue Mosque are lit up and look almost close enough to touch. The hotel is located...

Armada exemplified customer service and comfort in every way. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful irrespective of the hour of the day. I will definitely recommend Armada to my friends and family who are planning to visit Istanbul. Also, Armada is located in the heart of the old city so it was really easy for us to walk...

The hotel was great! Rooms were very comfortable and the bath robes, amazing! Location is very central to the old city - 5 minute walk to the main sights. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had dinner at the roof top restaurant and it was one of the best meals we had in Turkey! Absolutely amazing!

I recently stayed at the Armada for eight nights, and only have positive things to say. Every single person at the front desk, in the restaurant, and other staff (cleaning people, bellhops) were helpful, polite, and friendly. The room was not huge, but was very comfortable, large enough, and very clean and in good repair. I loved the location as...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
